With Loki’s fourth episode and its surprising end, the show’s making viewing records, bringing Marvel Cinematic Universe atop the charts. And the cast members have all the reason to equally celebrate the success of the show as well as their performance and presence in Loki as they are being widely appreciated.
Loki is about Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief leading an ensemble in a time-variant crime-thriller, but it’s Sophia Di Martino making the headlines with her impeccable performance as Sylvie, garnering special attention with her performance in the latest episode The Nexus Event. The female variant of the God of Mischief unraveling the mystery behind Time-Keepers became the highlight of the show yesterday. The MCU fans have seemingly loved Sophia’s role in the show which has resulted in her high ratings at IMDb. The actress has become the most popular celebrity on the movie database website and portal, earning the #1 spot on the list.
In fact, all the central actors of Loki have managed to earn audience appreciation. Tom Hiddleston, the MCU veteran who portrays the titular character and is also an executive producer of the show has joined Sophia Di Martino in the top five IMDb celebrities, scoring the #4 spot in the list. Hiddleston also teases upcoming twists and turns in the show’s story as he effortlessly keeps fans waiting for more.
Though Hiddleston’s entry in the top five isn’t surprising given the already built-up hype around the show and his character re-development with the series, Sophia Di Martino seems to have won hearts. In the last episode, The Nexus Event, the show delved deeper into Sylvie’s story line and gave the actress a center spot in the show, which has eventually led to her topping the IMDb charts.
Sasha Lane, who has also made her mark with her small but crucial role of Hunter C-20, has secured the #23 spot, thus bringing her within the Top 100. While Lane’s role has been relatively smaller, it would be lovely to see her again in the next two episodes in some capacity. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, whose role took a surprising turn in the last episode has also made some fans among the audience as she has secured the #11 spot on the list, way ahead of Owen Wilson’s #50 spot.
Though Wilson is supposedly a more important character to the show, Mbatha-Raw’s character turn has just become interesting, which is indicating the apparent revelation of her comic book identity, Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, who is an ally to Kang the Conqueror.
Besides these series stars, Tara Strong has also made a place in the top 100 celebrities on IMDb, with the voters positioning her at #92. Tara Strong has voiced Miss Minutes in the first two episodes of the show, giving another amazing voice-over for a fan-favorite character.
Loki has become one of the most viewed shows on streaming platforms. The time-bending narrative of the show has the audience pretty hooked and looks like it will reach some massive culmination by the end of its final episode. Marvel boss, Kevin Feige has already described the show as the strongest foundation for the future entries of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was earlier reported that the show will have ties to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though it hasn’t been re-confirmed since Feige stated that fact back in 2019 at the San Diego Comic-Con.
The fourth episode has turned the tides of the show’s story with both Loki and Mobius pruned and Loki ending up in a dystopian New York (the one shown in the trailer with the destroyed Avengers Tower) along with some unprecedented guests there. The curtains are also off the mysterious Time Variance Authority. With each passing week, all the audience wants is to have closure over where these drastic but intriguing reveals will take this show in the final two episodes.
