An exclusive clip from the upcoming fourth season of the animated comedy series, Solar Opposites, offers our best look (and sound) yet of new cast member Dan Stevens as Korvo. Coming courtesy of Hulu, Stevens takes over the lead role of Korvo from Justin Roiland following accusations of violence and abuse that have been leveled at the writer and voice actor. You can check out our exclusive clip from Solar Opposites season four below.
Beginning back in 2020, Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food and fun stuff.
“On season four of “Solar Opposites, we pack up the sci-fi and get normal… for a second,” the official synopsis for the fourth season of Solar Opposites reads. “Then it’s back to classic Solar chaos, mayhem in the Wall, and some all new Silvercops adventures!”
Along with returning cast members Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs) and Mary Mack (Golan the Insatiable), Dan Stevens (Legion, Downton Abbey) joins the new season as Korvo, with the voice change being explained away through the use of a ‘voice-fixing ray.’ It’s a creative feat that could be needed again when recasting Roiland as both Rick and Morty in the acclaimed sci-f- animated series, Rick and Morty.
Solar Opposites season four will also feature guest appearances from the likes of Tiffany Haddish (who continues to be their sarcastic computer), Sutton Foster (Sister Sisto), Christina Hendricks (Cherie), and Kieran Culkin (Glen).

The issues behind-the-scenes have seemingly been dealt with when it comes to bringing back Solar Opposites, and fans are loving what they’ve heard from Dan Stevens so far, with the show simply making the change using its typical no-nonsense humor and moving on.
The same cannot be said about Rick and Morty, which has yet to reveal exactly how it will replace Justin Roiland as the two title characters. “We are closing in on the end of our process of the recast. It’s gonna be great,” Rick and Morty executive producer Steve Levy said recently of bringing in “soundalikes” as Rick and Morty. “I am thoroughly impressed with everything that’s going on, including all the work on season seven.”
Meanwhile, Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen believes that the voice acting is just one element of many when it comes to making an animated series work. “In any case, the idea is that we feel that they are the same characters,” Ouweleen said earlier this year.
“Listen: voices are obviously super important in an animated series. And, of course, none of us wanted to go through what we went through. But I’ve been in animation for a long time, and I know that what makes a series is its different parts coming together. If the voices are obviously a big part, there is also the writing of the characters, their design… I have reason to believe that the transition will go well.”
Solar Opposites season four is all set to premiere today, August 14, on Hulu.
