Taylor Swift ‘filled with rage and grief’ over Texas school shooting – Music News

Taylor Swift is “filled with rage and grief” about the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

An 18-year-old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday, killing at least 19 children and two adults. The tragedy sparked an outpouring of reactions from celebrities on social media, with Taylor posting a rare tweet to comment on the massacre.

“Filled with rage and grief, and so broken by the murders in Uvalde,” she wrote. “By (the shootings in) Buffalo, Laguna Woods and so many others. By the ways in which we, as a nation, have become conditioned to unfathomable and unbearable heartbreak. Steve’s words ring so true and cut so deep.”

She shared a video of U.S. basketball coach Steve Kerr giving a passionate and emotional speech about the tragedy at a pre-game conference on Tuesday.

“When are we going to do something?!” Kerr yelled. “I’m tired. I am so tired of getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families that are out there… I am tired of the moments of silence. Enough!”

Elsewhere, Olivia Rodrigo took time out of her concert in Los Angeles to address the shooting, telling the audience, “I wish we would never have to worry about our safety or our lives at places that are dedicated to our learning and growing… I’m so heartbroken that this is the reality that we’re living in – and we need stricter gun control laws in America.”

Meanwhile, Texas native Selena Gomez wrote on her Instagram Stories, “It’s so frustrating and I’m not sure what to say anymore. Those in power need to stop giving lip service and actually change the laws to prevent these shootings in the future.”

And Khloé Kardashian posted, “My heart is breaking. I pray, I hope, I beg, I plead… please, law makers, government officials, leaders of our country, do something to protect our children.”
