True to its roots, the series will amalgamate elements of fiction with the factual world of Formula 1. The 2023 season of F1, with its 23 scheduled races, will serve as the backdrop for the series. The writing and executive production responsibilities for One have been shouldered by the Oscar-nominated duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, celebrated for their work on Children of Men, Iron Man, and The Expanse. Their participation is contingent on the resolution of the ongoing writers strike.
