Samantha Morton plays reverend Jack Brooks in the first look trailer for The Burning Girls, the new horror thriller from Paramount+, which premieres on October 19.

As she prepares to return as Catherine de’ Medici in the second season of The Serpent Queen, Morton puts royalty aside to become a haunted vicar in the new series from Hans Rosenfeldt and Camilla Ahlgren. Based on the novel by C.J. Tudor, the story follows a reverend and her daughter, who move to the small town of Chapel Croft in search of a new beginning after suffering a tragic loss. However, the quiet life they imagined turns into a true nightmare, since the town is covered with dark and twisted secrets.

Morton is a British actresses who has managed to leave an unforgettable mark in film and television, with an extensive career full of popular titles, brilliant performances and a wide variety of awards.

She made her debut in 1991 in the series Soldier Soldier, and hasn’t stopped since. Her filmography includes films such as Under the Skin, The Harvest, Sweet and Lowdown, Minority Report, In America, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, among many others.

On television, she has been part of acclaimed adaptations such as 1996’s Emma, ​​1997’s Jane Eyre, and Harlots. She was also part of The Walking Dead universe playing Alpha, the leader of the Whisperers, one of the great villains introduced in the original series. She reprised her role in Tales of the Walking Dead, one of the recent spinoffs from the franchise, which is an anthology series centered on different characters.
