Blake Lively Receives Threats As Jenny Slate Complaint Is Revealed

It’s been a long few months since the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni/It Ends With Us lawsuit broke for us news writers. And the train of near-constant information drops doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon, as more and more details continue to “leak” out to the public. Everyone is finding their own angle on the varying narratives at play, desperate for a few good clicks and page views (hello!).

So feast upon this, ye gossip hounds (no judgment), hungry for more news: we’re serving up some specifics about Jenny Slate’s complaint against the production, as well as the revelation that Lively is requesting a court order to keep certain personal information away from the press, as she and others are receiving “violent, profane, sexist, and threatening communications” because of the case. It’s going to be a loooooong 13 months before this trial sees its day in court.

Blake Lively’s Court Order and Jenny Slate Complaint Details Revealed

In a new story from THR — which turned the beef into quite an artistic, illustrated rendering for its accompanying cover, we might add — about the ways Baldoni’s Bahá’í faith may have played a role in certain on-set situations, details regarding Jenny Slate’s complaint were revealed for the first time. According to the outlet, Slate and Wayfairer president Jamey Heath had an interaction that made her so uncomfortable, she filed a complaint:

“Slate, who has a toddler, told him she wasn’t thrilled with the space she had rented but that moving wasn’t an option because she didn’t want to lose the sizable security deposit, around $15,000. Heath informed Slate that Wayfarer would reimburse her for the lost security deposit so she could find better accommodations, but apparently he made the offer using language that made Slate so uncomfortable — sources say he focused intensely on the sanctity of motherhood and Slate’s role as a mother — that she filed a complaint to the film’s distributor Sony about the incident. A spokesperson for Slate did not return multiple requests for comment. According to a source, Heath has a different understanding of their interaction. He’s told people that even when Wayfarer offered a kind gesture, it was weaponized against them.”

Anyone else wish they had more specifics about this motherhood conversation? It must have been pretty weird (not unprecedented in this story) to have elicited a written complaint. For the record, the reason this was included in the story is that Heath is also a member of the faith.

As for Lively’s court order, the details are a bit clearer. In that Variety story, it is explained that Lively’s lawyers are looking for a court order to ensure that specific information is handled in such a way that it cannot leak to the public. That information includes details around “compensation information, profitability reports, ownership of companies, creative ideas, film scripts, photos, videos, and health records.” This is being done not only because so many of the parties involved are “high-profile figures,” but also because Lively and others involved in the case have been on the receiving end of “violent” threats of sexual assault, as well as “pornographic trolling on Instagram,” according to the lawyer’s request.

In response to this, Baldoni’s team say that he and his side have also been on the receiving end of similar threats, providing the following official comment:

“Anyone receiving violent messages by anonymous parties is abhorrent. When private parties were wrongfully accused by Lively and her paid team of wrongdoing, they received continuous death threats and visits to private homes where young children reside after their addresses were leaked on her initial complaints. No one should have to face that, especially private parties who do not have means for security detail. We do not condone dangerous rhetoric targeted toward anyone no matter the situation.”

So yeah, like we said: it’s going to be a long thirteen months before this lawsuit goes to trial.
