“If they wanted to go back and do an origin story, I would be there for it,” Lynskey said. “The story of how this woman got into this crazy position would be really interesting.”

Lynskey’s clarification came after a misleading headline from an article caused confusion among fans, who believed that she had pitched the idea of a Kathleen origin story herself. In her Twitter post, Lynskey explained that she was simply trying to be polite and supportive during a busy red carpet event and would do anything Craig Mazin, the showrunner for The Last of Us, asked her to do.
