Highsnobiety Announces New EIC Noah Johnson & SVP Caitlin LeRoux!

It’s a new day at Highsnobiety! The streetwear title has appointed Noah Johnson as editor in chief to lead all elements of its print and digital editorial work. Previously, Johnson was GQ‘s global style director since 2016, following roles at Details, Style.com, and Complex. He cleverly marked the news with his own Instagram post as well, generating industry support from chicsters like Zak Maoui, Jose Criales-Unzueta, Nick Haramis, Steff Yotka, Jian DeLeon, Todd Kingston Plummer, Sam Schube, and GQ EIC Will Welch—who sweetly noted “forever thank you”! On the same say, Highsnobiety also announced Caitlin LeRoux as senior vice president and general manager of Highsnobiety North America, as well as Tom Lee as the company’s vice president and head of creative. Congrats to all!

Matilda Djerf’s Viral Apology & Policy Changes Follow Djerf Avenue’s Workplace Drama

Matilda Djerf is the latest social media influencer to come under fire. The founder of clothing and beauty brand Djerf Avenue was in the hot seat this week after Swedish tabloid Astonbladet released a story on her apparent employee mistreatment and workplace culture, according to The New York Times. In response to the news—alleging Djerf bullied staff, made fatphobic comments, and made staff clean her private toilet if one of them used it, from accounts by 11 anonymous past and present employees—and mounting criticism on social media, Djerf’s released her own statement on the matter. In a post on Instagram, the influencer cited her new experience as a brand leader and apologized for any hurt caused, plus her intentions to “get it right” at her company. Moving forward, the brand will further review its ongoing staff feedback surveys and conduct an assessment from an external organizational psychologist. Eek!

Could Jonathan Anderson Be Dior’s Next Creative Director?

After 2024’s exhaustive creative director shuffle, we only have one last question: is Jonathan Anderson the next Dior creative director? I Deserve Couture’s Hanan Besovic, who played conspiracy theorist with Anderson’s new sunset Instagram., certainly thinks so! In his own Reels post, Besovic compellingly dissected the photo’s caption, coloring, and lighting placement as connecting to Dior’s own spelling and products! Indeed, rumors have been swirling of the potential for Dior to hire a new creative lead in its men’s or women’s divisions over the last two months after major exits like Kim Jones at Fendi, Pierpaolo Piccioli at Valentino, and Virginie Viard at Chanel. In any case, time will tell! Personally, we’d love to see Anderson at play at Fendi—which still needs an artistic director after Jones exited in October 2024! But not to fret: the Italian brand’s major 100th anniversary collections will be designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, kicking off 2025 with a stylish start.

Sotheby’s Raises $1.1 Million For Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s Chic Wardrobe & More!

Sotheby’s second “Fashion Icons” sale raised a record $1.1 million this week, counting international bids on top historical fashion pieces. This season’s highlights included a Prada coat, Yohji Yamamoto jacket, and leopard faux fur coat from the late Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s ’90s wardrobe, all gifted to Sotheby’s by John F. Kennedy Jr.’s former executive assistant RoseMarie Terenzio. Bessette-Kennedy’s pieces resulted in bids totaling $177,600, while other top items included a 2007-08 Alexander McQueen gown, 1924-25 Sonia Delaunay cloche and scarf, Chanel Fall 1983-84 couture evening dress, Dior’s Fall 2000 newspaper-print dress by John Galliano, an Issey Mitake breastplate, and Mrs. Carnegie’s own Louis Vuitton trunk.
