Just yesterday Cardi released ‘Imaginary Playerz,’ and the internet was already faint from excitement. Cardi proudly posted on Instagram with no pretense whatsoever, stating, ‘Let me pop my sh- 😎 IMAGINARY PLAYERZ song AND video OUT NOW!!’ The small snippet provided an insight into Cardi’s world, dripping with diamonds and vintage gold, throwing bars harder than any freight train could ever attempt.

Neck-snapping flows hit the ears: ‘I got the hottest shit, how bout poppin’ it? They said I walk around looking like a compliment,’ as if gliding elegantly into bragging about buying watches so expensive for grown men, they have to ‘take links out, bitch.’ And that’s Cardi for you: straight-up brazen, dripping in diamonds, and utterly impossible to ignore.
The fans wasted no time filling the comments section with hype and praise. Cardi’s sister, Hennessy Carolina, led the charge with: ‘BARRRRRRRRRRSSSSS YEAAAA TALK YOUR SHiT 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥☄️☄️☄️,’ and Oggie Music followed: ‘Glory hole, Bishes don’t know who they phuckin wit!!! Some haters were, of course, trash-talking: one trying to ask shade said’- dragging Nicki Minaj in the process- ‘ @nickiminaj cleared you 😂😂😂😂 your top five will never clear a verse for you.’ Then Standing struck back: ‘y’all some weird ssa fans and only get Cardi paid every time you come to hate just slow af.’
Right under the shade came plenty of support and praise. One fan was praising the visuals: ‘Her visuals are always so fire. Hair, makeup & outfits are always on point! 😩,’ while the other praise said: ‘Makes me feel rich 🥹🥹🥹🥹👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💫💫💫💫💅💅💅💅💅💅.’
Thereafter, industry ones got involved. Jerome Trammell, stylist and creative director, says that Cardi just keeps on rising: ‘You did it again – you continue to set the bar! The music, the visuals & the impact! They thought you’d never make it this far! Eat! 👏🏾’
The track samples ‘Imaginary Playmates,’ and with that nostalgic sample, no one could ignore it. ‘With the Imaginary Playmates sample 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🔥🔥🔥,’ exclaimed one of the fans, while another went as far as to compare Cardi’s flow to that of the legendary Foxy Brown.
So love or hate Cardi, she’s not really creating music; she’s building moments. Judging from that heavy response to ‘Imaginary Playerz,’ this will definitely outlast most summer flings.
