College-Educated Celebrities | POPSUGAR Celebrity

Celebrities are typically viewed for their role in the entertainment world, not for their background or lifestyle outside of the limelight. Many stars — notably actors, musicians, and artists — take the route of bypassing higher education and leaping straight into their respective career fields. Most work in the field of entertainment is reliant upon a “big break” or grueling years of climbing the social ladder, which deters many celebrities away from considering higher education as a means to advance their career and achieve goals.

Despite what may be an unpopular outlook on college education in Tinseltown, many stars have either earned their degrees before the launch of their careers or returned to school while balancing work projects. For example, “Ugly Betty” actor America Ferrera first enrolled at the University of Southern California in 2002 and came back nearly ten years later to finish her degree in 2012. Others, like “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown is pursuing her degree at Purdue University while managing a packed work schedule.

Outside of their presence in the spotlight, these celebrities have put in the work and earned degrees in a variety of subjects from several notable universities. Read on to find out which of your favorites are college-educated!
