David Beckham and Cruz Beckham Celebrate World Bee Day and Their Honey Business

David Beckham marked World Bee Day on Wednesday by drawing a direct line between his personal beehives and beeupsnacks, the snack brand he runs alongside his son Cruz Beckham.

The Instagram caption leaned into the occasion with his usual warmth. “World Bee Day means I get to celebrate all the hard work these little guys do for me,” he wrote, crediting his hives as the reason beeupsnacks exists. He tagged Cruz and closed with a cheerful “lots of love to the beeeeez.”

Beckham has kept personal beehives for years, and it’s a hobby he talks about with genuine enthusiasm. The honey from those hives is framed as the heart of beeupsnacks, and that gives the brand a personal story most celebrity snack labels can’t match. Cruz, his third child with Victoria Beckham, is a named collaborator. The two have presented beeupsnacks as something they built together rather than a commercial exercise with a famous name on the packaging.

That origin story matters in a crowded space. Celebrity food and snack brands often start with a licensing deal and work backward. By Beckham’s telling, beeupsnacks started with actual bees and actual honey from his own property. The brand grew from there, not the other way around.

World Bee Day falls on May 20 each year. The United Nations established the date to raise awareness about bees and their importance to global ecosystems. It’s a day that’s grown in recognition among beekeepers and sustainability advocates. For Beckham, the occasion made for a natural moment to celebrate the brand in a way that felt earned.

His broader business life keeps him busy. Beckham retired from football in 2013. He’s used the years since to build one of the more wide-ranging portfolios of any athlete turned entrepreneur. He co-owns Inter Miami CF in Major League Soccer, maintains fashion and fragrance partnerships, and has been a consistent presence in the lifestyle brand world for decades. Beeupsnacks is a smaller operation. The honey came first.

Cruz, now in his early twenties, has been carving out his own identity. He’s invested time in music and has grown more visible in creative and lifestyle spaces over the past couple of years. The beeupsnacks collaboration offers him a foothold in the family’s business world. It also started from a shared hobby rather than a simple handoff, and that gives it a different texture.

Wednesday’s post was simple. Beckham celebrated the day, thanked the bees, and gave Cruz a warm public mention. It was a low-key, genuinely affectionate brand moment. Those tend to land better than the ones that try too hard.
