Jack Quaid Says Emotional Goodbye To The Boys As Filming Wraps On Final Season

Oh, gauging the tear count, Jack Quaid just dropped an emotional Instagram bomb of enormous proportion. Writing a deeply personal farewell after having closed the shooting of season 5 of this great Amazon series, he just went all out with all in him.

Jack takes the perfect visual that tells a thousand words about dirty shoot days that left bad blood spilling on his face and shirt. The smile that graced his face while holding a tiny figurine radiated, “I can’t believe this is over.” The scene was a perfect illustration of the extremes shown by the series-Thorough brutality and tender heart: much like Quaid’s own character Hughie Campbell.

That caption was a virtual love letter to the entire cast and crew and the entire journey: “5 seasons covered in blood & I wouldn’t change it for the world.” How Quaid also called the series his family and joked that “they’re stuck with me for life” was utterly Quaid: half-serious, half-joke.

What about the comments? The cast mates came together again. Erin Moriarty and Karen Fukuhara poured their hearts in the comments, Moriarty saying, “Park bench warmers forever ❤️.” Fukuhara was a little shorter and more emotional: “More blood!!!! Will miss you as Hughie❤️.”

Not just the cast was choked up, but the fans were also pouring their hearts into the post. One wrote: “Congrats on making Hughie everyone’s favorite soft boy in a world of maniacs.” Another said just about the right thing: “You brought so much heart and humanity to Hughie.” Then there was this chaotic energy of one user who shouted, “Hughie please teleport with Homelander ☄️.” Sure, why not.

Even composer Christopher Lennertz commented, humorously referencing the show’s… colorful language: “Thank you for giving me such great inspiration to write every ep, Jack! ❤️🎶🙏🖕.”

Quaid’s post didn’t just mark the conclusion; it bellowed, “Look what’s coming!” He continued, “I can’t wait for you to see this amazing final season,” and by any understanding this far, it’s going to be one hell of a wild and bloody ride.

It was a career-defining role for Quaid in The Boys, from this naive everyman to a legitimate force against rogue supes, and it seems from all the comments that he has left an impact on the cast and fans alike.

Grab your popcorn now (raincoats might come in handy because of this fake blood). The final season is almost here, and if Quaid’s farewell is anything to go by, it’s going to hurt so good.
