Watching her croon the opening verse — “I can almost see it, that dream I’m dreaming / But there’s a voice inside my head saying, you’ll never reach it” — is especially poignant because she’s transcended those lyrics. Cyrus has reached that dream she was dreaming back then, evolving from child star to music icon, and most recently topping the Billboard charts for six weeks straight with her single “Flowers.”
