The footage shows Mayor Mamdani approaching newlyweds to show his congratulations. “There is no greater place to get married in New York City,” he says in the clip. “Everyone comes here to get married and that creates part of the citys wonderful atmosphere.”
The moment that caught many viewers’ attention, however, wasn’t just the mayor. A close-up shot of another city official appeared during the montage to deliver the line about “the magic.” People online began to laugh after he used his confidence to make unexpected interruptions.
