Rick Ross Locks In A June Release With New Album ‘Set in Stone’

Rick Ross announced on X this week that his new album “Set in Stone” drops June 12th, with pre-orders available immediately across all major streaming and retail platforms.

The post was short and confident. Ross put the date in all caps, named the album, and dropped a pre-order link. No tracklist or confirmed features came with it. The title and the date were enough to get things moving.

For longtime listeners, the title lands with real weight. “Set in Stone” reads as a statement of permanence. That fits the image Ross has built throughout a long career in rap. He’s leaned into themes of legacy and staying power across multiple projects, and a title like this doesn’t arrive by accident.

June 12th is well-timed. Summer is historically one of the stronger windows for new music. Dropping right at the start of the season gives the project solid runway into the warmer months.

Ross has been one of the most consistent album artists in hip-hop for the past twenty years. He released “Port of Miami” back in 2006 and has been putting out full-length projects at a steady pace ever since. He also built and runs Maybach Music Group, one of the more respected independent imprints in the genre. The label has stayed a real presence in the industry through a lot of changes in how music gets made and distributed. His 2023 release “Pinned to the Cross” kept him in active conversation with fans both longtime and new.

“Set in Stone” looks like the natural next move.

What’s interesting is the clarity of the announcement itself. Ross didn’t tease. He confirmed. He gave a date, a title, and a pre-order link. That’s a signal the project is finished and ready to go. In an era of endless rollouts and teaser campaigns, that kind of directness stands out. A lot of artists spend months hinting before committing. Ross went straight to confirmation.

The post drew over 13,400 likes and more than 2,100 retweets in the early window. Pre-orders are live now for anyone who wants to get in ahead of the release.

A tracklist, guest features, and production credits are still to come. With about a month left before June 12th, those details will likely surface through singles and press as the rollout continues.

At this point in his career, Ross doesn’t need to oversell a drop. A strong title and a firm date do the work. The summer is shaping up to be a big one for hip-hop, and “Set in Stone” just staked its claim on the calendar.
