Ludadris Will Return in Fast X to Help Close Out the Fast and Furious Saga

It was previously reported that Fast X will be the penultimate installment of the Fast and Furious movie series, as the eleventh film is planned to be the last one. Almost all of the major players from the movie series will be coming back for Fast X, and that of course includes Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.

“Man, they just announced that. We’re gonna end on 10 and 11,” Bridges said on The Ellen Show when the news of F11 ending the series was announced in 2020. “Me personally, I thought we were going to end on 10. But I’m not at all sad about it. ‘Cause you gotta think about it: I came out in 2 Fast 2 Furious, we never knew we were gonna get a call back for [Fast & Furious] 5. Now I been in 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. And now they’re telling me there’s gonna be two more? I’m happy!”

In a separate interview with EW, Bridges also explained how he first came into the series.

“I was on tour with Eminem and I got the call, because I believe Ja Rule was supposed to get this part and they couldn’t come to an agreement or something like that,” the rapper said, revealing that he basically lucked into the role. “At the last minute, they had to hurry up and fill this role. I remember right before getting on stage, I was in my dressing room and someone told me, ‘You have to try out for this part. They only have one day so you’ve got to put it on tape now, and here’s the sides and you’ve got to do it.’ I’m like 15, 20 minutes from going on stage… It’s that crunch situation of, ‘Am I going to get this part? I don’t know. I don’t have too much time to even think about being nervous about reading these lines. I just got to do this s—.’ And I did it, and the rest is f—ing history.”
