    Deadpool & Wolverine
plot involving multiverse jumps and potential cameos from iconic MCU characters.

Michael B. Jordan has reignited rumors that the Fantastic Four will make an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Jordan first appeared in the 2015 remake of Fantastic Four as the Human Torch, before stealing the show in 2018’s Black Panther as the film’s villain, Killmonger. Despite Killmonger dying at the end of Black Panther, Jordan has reprised the role in the MCU two more times, briefly appearing in its sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and voicing an alternative version in the Disney+ animated series What If…?

Within a week of the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine dropping online, the rumor mill is swirling again after Jordan shared the trailer on his Instagram story. Following his role in 2015’s Fantastic Four, many fans have read Jordan’s Instagram story as a tease that the Human Torch will appear in this year’s only MCU theatrical release. The first trailer confirmed that the film will feature a whole host of multiverse/timeline jumping as Deadpool is apprehended by the Time Variance Authority (who first appeared in Loki Season 1). Fans believe this will lead to a meeting with the Fantastic Four.

However, given Jordan’s prominence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it remains unlikely that his version of the Human Torch will appear in the film. This has led other fans to speculate that Chris Evans’ version of the iconic Marvel character will be the one to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine. Before helping to establish the MCU as Captain America, Evans had two turns playing Johnny Storm/Human Torch in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). While it doesn’t make sense for either actor to reprise their Fantastic Four roles within the confines of the MCU, it would be true to the Deadpool brand for Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth to break the fourth wall about the actors looking similar to Captain America and Killmonger.

Currently, all of this is speculative, and neither Michael B. Jordan nor Chris Evans have been confirmed to appear in

.

Deadpool & Wolverine Already Features a Stacked Cast

Were Chris Evans and/or Michael B. Jordan to cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, they would be joining a cast already overflowing with stars. The two biggest names in the movie are, of course, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who are making Marvel fans’ dreams come true by pairing Deadpool and Wolverine together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadpool appearing in the MCU also means a whole host of characters from the first two movies (which were under the banner of 21st Century Fox) are coming with him.

Joining Reynolds and Jackman from previous installments of the X-Men franchise are Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) and, everyone’s favorite, Rob Delaney (Peter).

A major character who hasn’t been confirmed to appear in the new movie is Cable, played by Josh Brolin. Brolin has been coy during interviews regarding his appearance in the upcoming third movie. Speaking to Collider earlier this year, Brolin gave an incredibly ambiguous answer when asked if he’s in Deadpool & Wolverine, saying “No. I don’t know. Because Ryan [Reynolds] doesn’t like me? I don’t know… Maybe.” Sadly for Deadpool 2 fans, Zazie Beetz has confirmed she will not be reprising her role as Domino in Deadpool & Wolverine.
