Every Movie Coming to Shudder in April 2025

Shudder is undoubtedly the best streaming service there is for horror fanatics, featuring a variety of thrillers ranging from the 1980s classics to modern masterpieces. In fact, the streaming service became a much more credible alternative for viewers once it began producing original films, which have been absolutely phenomenal thanks to various distinct narratives.

Shudder has unveiled its roster for April, which includes a handful of intriguing originals as well as a whole bunch of additional films, from vintage zombie thrillers to the newest slasher horrors. So, without further ado, here’s every movie that will be available on Shudder in April 2025.

While a horror film’s plot is what makes it truly terrifying, the setting certainly heightens the fear.

Apparently, the town is haunted by the ghost of Helen Foster, feeding on the townspeople’s fears, and the only way to put an end to her nightmare is to locate Helen’s former home. When Wilson learns that Helen may have targeted his family, he has no other choice but to find the missing home located at 825 Forest Road. The film will be available for streaming on Shudder on April 4, 2025.

‘Shadow of God’

Streaming April 11

Amid all the exorcism horror movies, there have seldom been new storylines, with most modern films, in particular, repeating the same formula over and over. However, Shadow of God seems to be substantially different from what we usually see in these stories.

In this horror film directed by Michael Peterson, an elite exorcist performs an unauthorized exorcism on his own father, only to discover that he may have to fight a holy entity, which could very well be God. Now, is there a special way to exorcise this holy spirit? Among the Shudder originals set to release in April, Shadow of God, which will be available for streaming on the platform on April 11, might be the one you should keep an eye on.

‘Dead Mail’

Streaming April 18

Shudder has lately stepped up its game significantly, with the streamer revealing a plethora of innovative concepts, and Dead Mail, written and directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy, is a brand-new entry to its collection of intriguing horror thrillers. The film had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 9, 2024, and garnered positive feedback, with most critics applauding its ability to take nostalgic ’80s themes and twist them into contemporary narratives. The official synopsis for Dead Mail reads as follows:

On a desolate, Midwestern county road, a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. The note makes its way to the county post office and onto the desk of Jasper, a seasoned and skilled “dead letter” investigator, responsible for investigating lost mail and returning it to its sender. As he investigates further, Jasper meets Trent, a strange yet unassuming man who has taken up residence at the men’s home where Jasper lives. When Trent unexpectedly shows up at Jasper’s office, it becomes clear he has a vested interest in the note, and will stop at nothing to retrieve it.

Dead Mail will be released on Shudder on April 18, 2025.

‘Frewaka’

Streaming April 25

When you form a deep connection with someone who is beyond saving in terms of trauma, there are bound to be consequences, and they are expertly laid out in Frewaka, a new Irish horror film written and directed by Aislinn Clarke.

The 40 Scariest Movies Ever Made. Be Afraid…

There’s a difference between “best” and “scariest,” and while it’s all subjective, we think these are the all-time best scary movies. Be very afraid.

In the film, Shoo, a home care worker tormented by a harrowing tragedy from her past, is sent to a village to care for an agoraphobic woman who believes that sinister entities abducted her decades ago. As a result of their shared trauma, Shoo forms a strangely profound connection with the older woman, unaware that it will have long-term consequences. Consumed by the old woman’s paranoia, superstitions, and deep fears, Shoo is forced to confront her own personal trauma, which may not be as easy as ignoring it all these years. Frewaka will be available to stream on Shudder on April 25, 2025.
