It literally was a Pooh year at the 44th Razzie Awards, with slasher movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey taking home five of the dubious honors on offer. Ahead of the Oscars on Sunday night, the Razzies unveiled their results earlier today, and it was probably no surprise the unexpected hit movie that makes the most of A.A. Milne’s characters falling into the public domain came out on top. Or bottom, depending on how one views it.

Tagline A horror retelling of the famous legend of Winnie-The-Pooh.
Leading the pack of this year’s most (un)honored films, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey achieved most of the ceremony’s biggest awards, including Worst Picture, Director, and Screenplay for Rhys Frake-Waterfield, as well as Worst Screen Couple for the childhood-destroying pairing of a monstrous Pooh and Piglet. The film also secured the award for Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel. This no doubt means that Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 will probably be vying for the same awards this time next year – unless one of Frake-Waterfield’s other planned horror movies comes in to take the prize.
The first trailer for the quickly-created sequel to Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey recently landed, revealing more low-budget gore and ultra-violence all in the name of making a bit of money from a popular character name. Although the new film does come with an increased budget, it does seem to be playing to the same audience as its predecessor. The Razzie panel will probably have already given out 2025’s awards in their heads.
Other Razzie “Winners” Included Some Big Names
Lionsgate Films
The Expend4bles, the latest installment in the action-packed franchise, also managed to nab itself a couple of big awards in the Supporting Actor and Actress categories. Franchise veteran Sylvester Stallone claimed the former, while costar Megan Fox was given the latter, which will sit nicely with her Worst Actress award for her role in Johnny & Clyde. The final acting award, for Worst Actor, went to another industry old-timer, Jon Voight, for his part in Mercy – which is something the Razzies know very little about.

The other award of the night, entitled the Razzie Redeemer Award, was presented to SAG/AFTRA president Fran Drescher. Having previously been nominated for an award in 1998 for The Beautician and the Beast, it seems that the organizers do have something of a heart, as they chose Drescher to be “redeemed” with this award for “her brilliant shepherding of the actors’ guild through a prolonged 2023 strike with a successful conclusion.”
