But he might struggle with my accent!

Brian Molko has admitted he would love Yungblud to play him in a Placebo biopic.

Speaking in a new interview with Radio X, when it was put to him who he would choose to portray him and direct, the frontman gave The Doncaster artist (real name Dominic Harrison) his seal of approval and Jim Jarmusch.

He said: “One of my favourite filmmakers is Jim Jarmusch. I have one of his films tattooed on my skin – Only Love Is Left Alive, my favourite film.

“I think Yungblud would do a good job of playing me, but I think he might struggle with my accent!”

He added: “The answer to that question used to be Audrey Hepburn, when I got asked it.”

Yungblud previously joined Placebo onstage in France for a version of ‘Nancy Boy’ in the summer of 2024.

This is not the first time that Yungblud has been touted for a role in a biopic either.

Earlier this year, Sharon Osbourne sparked rumours that he could play Ozzy Osbourne in a long-mooted biopic.

The film was first announced in 2021, and is set to tell the story of the Prince Of Darkness and his wife and manager, Sharon. It is being written by Oscar-nominee Lee Hall (Rocketman, Billy Elliott), and developed by Sony Pictures and Polygram Entertainment.

Sharon revealed that she had an actor in mind, but did not share their name. “Not yet,” she said in an interview with Piers Morgan. However, she did agree with Morgan’s view that the star should be someone who “could capture the real Ozzy”.

When Yungblud was mentioned Sharon looked taken aback and responded: “I’m not saying a word.”

Jack Osbourne more recently shared that a biopic about his parents, is “absolutely” happening and is pencilled in for a 2028 release.

Elsewhere, artists and figures from the entertainment world recently shared their support for Yungblud over his emotional speech following “industry plant” accusations.

Reverend And The Makers, Paloma Faith and SZA were among those who offered their support.

Placebo meanwhile recently released ‘RE:CREATED’, a new reworking of their 1996 debut album.

They are due to hit the road for a 30th anniversary tour which will kick off in September, and includes slots in Spain, France, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and more, before the UK dates commence at the end of November. Visit here for UK tickets and here for international tickets.
