Fred Again.. and LATIN MAFIA are livestreaming themselves creating a new collaborative mixtape – and have promised to continue until it is finished.
The British producer and the Mexican sibling trio have reunited in Mexico City to finish a joint project they have been working on intermittently for the past two years.
Their YouTube broadcast, titled ‘making a mixtape with latin mafia and staying here until we finish it’, began at 1pm local time today (July 28), or 8pm BST.
“Me and the Latin Mafia brothers have been working on music for many moons now,” Fred said while announcing the project. “They are making some of my favourite music in the world right now. It’s so beautiful but surprising but contained but adventurous.”

Fred also highlighted the familial nature of their collaboration. LATIN MAFIA consists of brothers Emilio, Milton and Mike de la Rosa, while the British artist regularly makes music with his younger brother and is also managed by a sibling.
“They’re three brothers and I make music with my little brother as well, so it’s just five brothers every time we get together,” he continued. “And we’re both managed by our siblings too! So yeah, proper family affair.”
Fred explained that the music they had created together quickly began to feel like one cohesive project.
“It was mad how quickly everything we made felt like it was naturally part of the same world,” he said. “Sometimes I find I have to really work hard to make things feel like a contained universe, but in this case everything that came out just naturally felt like one thing to us all.”
“So we wanna put it all out as one project. We’ve decided to get together in their home of Mexico City to finish it all.”
LATIN MAFIA said Fred’s “honest and sensitive” approach to music had long been an inspiration to them, adding that their creative relationship felt natural from the outset.
“When we met, it simply made sense because of the way we share so many things when creating,” they said in a statement translated from Spanish.
“It has been a couple of years since we first got together to work on music, and every time we have been in the same space, it feels like we have been friends forever.”
They added: “We want to share with you what we have created together over this time. So we will get together in Mexico City to finish this project and broadcast the whole process non-stop until it is finished and out for you.”
The announcement follows the release of Under The Fabric (Mexico City, 11th December 2025), a new 35-minute film documenting an improvised session between the artists last December.
The performance took place beneath an installation by Dutch visual artist Boris Acket before Fred’s ‘USB002’ show in Mexico City, where LATIN MAFIA later joined him on stage. The film was previewed for fans at Mexico City’s Cine Tonalá last week before being shared online on Sunday (July 26). Watch it below.
LATIN MAFIA released their debut album ‘Todos Los Días Todo El Día’ in 2024. The trio combine pop, R&B, reggaeton, trap and electronic music, and have cited Fred as one of their major influences.
Fred’s Mexico City show formed part of the international ‘USB002’ run, which saw him work with artists including Thomas Bangalter, Underworld, Mike Skinner, Nia Archives, Romy, Ezra Collective, Young Thug and Jamie T.
In a four-star review, NME described ‘USB002’ as “a flow state of impulsive floor-fillers”, adding: “The common thread of ‘USB’ seems to be an eternal state of flux, where all limits and shackles are off.”
Earlier this year, Fred shared a continuous 108-hour mix documenting the ‘USB002’ tour, as well as the creative files used throughout the project.
He is next due to embark on his first tour of India, playing Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru in December. The dates are currently billed as his only run of live shows this year.
