Watch Mike Myers make mock reunion with Kanye West in ‘SNL’ sketch

Mike Myers made a mock reunion with Kanye West in last night’s Saturday Night Live sketch – watch footage below.

The sketch featured on Saturday’s (May 17)  season finale and saw Myers step into an elevator alongside host Scarlett Johansson, only for them to be joined by Kenan Thompson’s West. Avengers: Endgame actor Johansson then fearfully runs out of the elevator, leaving Myers stuck with the ever-controversial rapper.

West begins the ride on the phone, complaining that his song has been removed from Spotify. “Come on, give me one good reason,” he argues. “Besides that. Besides that.” It follows ‘Donda 2’ being removed from streaming just hours after its release in April.

Seemingly referencing last month’s claims that he had taken part in incestuous acts with his male cousin as a child, he added: “How is that not relatable? Everybody got a cousin.”

He goes on to ask how Myers had been since the last time they saw each other, which was at “that Hurricane Katrina Benefit where I said George Bush doesn’t care about Black people and you just had to stand there looking stupid,” referencing West’s infamous 2005 rant during NBC’s Concert for Hurricane Relief.

George W Bush later told NBC News he thought that the outburst marked a “disgusting moment” in his presidency, adding: “It’s one thing to say, ‘I don’t appreciate the way he’s handled his business.’ It’s another thing to say, ‘This man’s a racist.’”

Myers asks West what he’s been up to in the meantime, to which Kanye replies, “I’m in the KKK now,” before asking after Myers’ children. “My kids?” Myers responded nervously. “My kids are safe.”

Back in March, West courted even more controversy by wearing a KKK outfit and a swastika necklace while claiming that he did not want to have children with Kim Kardashian.

It followed a string of highly offensive posts Ye had made on X/Twitter, which have seen him take back his apology to the Jewish community for his past anti-Semitic remarks and go on to declare himself “a Nazi”.

In February, he also came under fire for selling a white T-shirt with a large swastika emblem on the chest, listed as “HH-01” on his website – possibly a reference to the “Heil Hitler” chant.

The site was later taken down by Shopify, though the online retailer later stated that the artist’s website was taken down due to the potential for fraud – not because it was selling a swastika t-shirt. Shopify did condemn the item, calling it “vile, disgusting and inexcusable”.

He had also taken to X to post: “I love Hitler”, as well as praise billionaire – and X owner –  Musk as “the most lit person that [has] ever been on Twitter”, following the latter’s accusations of Nazism at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

Thompson’s West then changed topics, bringing up the ongoing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sex-trafficking trial. West had previously suggested Cassie Ventura “extorted” Diddy with the sexual assault case she filed against the mogul in November 2023.

The elevator later breaks down, sending him into a “claustrophobic” panic, with West quipping, “I’m a few phobics myself.”

The sketch rounds off with Kanye teasing a new song he’s been working, ‘Squeezin’ On My Grandpa’s Booty’ and wishing Myers well, saying: “Take care of yourself, Shrek.”
