Bengals yet to announce QB1 vs. Patriots with Burrow questionable

It remains to be seen if Joe Burrow will return this week.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has yet to announce the team’s starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.

The Bengals officially listed Burrow as questionable as he recovers from a Grade 3 turf toe injury. The superstar QB was a full participant at practice Wednesday and Thursday before being limited during Friday’s session, according to Mike Petraglia of “Jungle Roar Pod.”

“Feel comfortable waiting as long as we can with this decision,” Taylor said Friday, per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.

Taylor added that Burrow has “done everything he can to try to make himself ready to go.”

Burrow, sidelined since September, took first-team reps at practice this week. Originally expected to return in December, the 28-year-old is reportedly eyeing a potential return for Thanksgiving night, on Nov. 27, against the Baltimore Ravens if he doesn’t face the Patriots.

Joe Flacco has started five games since the Bengals acquired him in a trade from the Cleveland Browns in October. The 40-year-old has passed for 12 touchdowns against three interceptions in those contests.

With Burrow under center, the Bengals started the 2025 season 2-0. However, the team and its subpar defense are only 1-7 without its top passer. Cincinnati ranks third in the AFC North at 3-7.
