Olympique Marseille are reportedly determined to sell Juventus target Pierre Emile Hojbjerg during the January transfer window as they look to raise funds and reduce their wage bill. The Danish midfielder has attracted interest from Juventus for some time, and the Italian club continue to monitor his situation closely.
Juventus want to strengthen their midfield and could have an opportunity to sign Hojbjerg if Marseille follow through on their plans to offload him. The French club are keen to make changes to their squad, potentially opening the door for the Bianconeri to secure a long-standing target.

Marseille prepare to offload Hojbjerg
Marseille reportedly agreed to sell Hojbjerg to Newcastle United during the last transfer window, but the midfielder rejected the move because he did not want to return to the Premier League. His decision meant he remained in France, despite the club being willing to let him leave.
However, his future at Marseille now appears uncertain, with the club reportedly ready to explore another departure in January. According to Tuttojuve, the Ligue 1 side will actively attempt to sell the midfielder rather than keep him for the second half of the season.
Hojbjerg is one of Marseille’s highest-paid players, making his salary an important consideration as the club looks to manage its finances. Their failure to qualify for the Champions League has increased the need to find alternative ways to generate revenue and reduce costs.

Juventus could get another opportunity
Juventus could benefit from Marseille’s desire to sell, particularly given their long-standing admiration for the midfielder. The Bianconeri have continued to follow him and will be keen to ensure another club does not secure his signature before they can make their move.
A transfer to Turin could also appeal to Hojbjerg, who is reportedly looking for a new challenge. Joining Juventus would offer him a different experience without requiring him to return to a league he has already played in.
For Marseille, selling the Dane would provide an opportunity to raise funds while removing a significant salary from their accounts. For Juventus, the situation could create a chance to recruit a player they have wanted for some time.

Whether a deal materialises will depend on the clubs reaching an agreement and Hojbjerg being willing to make the move. The January window could therefore prove decisive for the midfielder’s future.
