Oldest Athletes That Are Still Breaking Records

The field of sports provides thrills and entertainment for those who spectate on the sidelines. For athletes, it gives them something more memorable: a chance to exercise all the discipline they have rehearsed to reach that stage.

However, the age factor kicks in eventually, and most have to hang their boots. However, we have witnessed rigorous athletes who have disregarded this belief and gone ahead to play well into their careers and shattered records. This article will give these figures the spotlight. Without further delay, let’s get straight into it.

Eliud Kipchoge

The famous long-distance marathon runner from the country of marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge is a global treasure. He has numerous accolades in his discipline, but perhaps his most renowned achievement was running the first-ever two-hour marathon in 2019 in Vienna, Austria, during the INEOS challenge.

At the time, he was 34 years old and managed to pull off a record time of 1 hour 59 minutes and 42 seconds. His coined phrase “no man is limited” sprouted from this achievement. The man won the Berlin marathon, clocking 2:02:42 last year at 38 years old.

He is 39, and his rigour and discipline show even in his lifestyle. Who knows, he might just wake up one day and shatter his own record time again so better check on Betway to see that day.

Cristiano Ronaldo

We could not leave out soccer legend Cristian Ronaldo when it comes to breaking records. This professional soccer player has proved that talent doesn’t define everything and that success can be due to intense training and ruthless ambition.

He is currently 39 and plays for the Saudi team Al Nassr FC. He recently broke the record of being the most capped men’s player in international football. This award came after playing for Portugal, marking his 197th appearance.

He also holds the record for the highest men’s scorer in international football since 2021. His 111th goal against Ireland made him the new record holder. At Al Naassr, he continues to score for his team despite his age.

Tom Brady

If you are a music fan, you may have encountered lyrics about Tom Brady’s stellar throwing prowess. The 46-year-old has had an illustrious career in the NFL, and while he retired in February last year, he had a rewarding career.

At 43, while he was the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady set a new single-season record for the most completed passes totalling 485. Talk about a good arm!

Just when you thought he was done, he broke his record in 2022 when he successfully completed 13 of 17 passes for 84 yards, bringing his total to 490 that season.

This new set bar has since been the NFL record. Brady was a great player, and wagering enthusiasts could agree with the spontaneity he brought to the game. You can still bet on NFL games on credible platforms like Betway.

Final Thoughts

One of the most common problems for athletes is aging. However, some athletes, like Eliud Kipchoge, Tom Brady, and Cristiano Ronaldo, push these barriers and test their limits.
