The Baltimore Ravens are signing running back Derrick Henry to a two-year, $30-million extension that includes $25 million fully guaranteed over the next two seasons, his agency told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It’s the largest deal in NFL history for a running back over the age of 30.
Henry, 31, had one year left on his deal after originally joining Baltimore on a two-year, $16-million contract during the 2024 offseason.
The five-time Pro Bowler put on a show in his first year with Baltimore, rushing for 1,921 yards (5.9 per carry) and an NFL-high 16 touchdowns en route to earning a second-team All-Pro berth. He finished the season with 2,114 yards and 18 TDs from scrimmage, serving as a key member of the Lamar Jackson-led offense.
Henry has arguably been the most reliable running back of his generation, having led the league in carries four times. The Alabama product, who spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans, easily leads the NFL in rushing attempts (1,854), yards (9,130 yards), and touchdowns (84) since 2019.
His new deal comes months after the Philadelphia Eagles also signed star tailback Saquon Barkley to a record two-year, $41.2-million extension.
Henry now ranks third in average annual salary among running backs behind only Barkley ($20.6 million) and Christian McCaffrey ($19 million).
