Saints, Jordan agree to 2-year, $27.5M extension

The New Orleans Saints and defensive end Cameron Jordan agreed to terms on a two-year extension worth $27.5 million guaranteed, his agents told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The agreement will keep the Saints’ all-time sack leader with the franchise through the 2025 season.

Jordan, 34, will likely end his career in a Saints uniform after signing his fourth multi-year contract with the franchise since being selected in the first round of the 2011 draft. The Cal product previously signed a three-year, $52.5-million extension with New Orleans in 2019. He was set to play out the final year of that deal this season.

Jordan’s 192 games in a Saints uniform is the fourth-highest total in franchise history, according to ESPN’s Katherine Terrell. The veteran pass-rusher, who has played in at least 16 games in each of his 12 seasons, could climb to the No. 2 spot behind former quarterback Drew Brees this season.

“Luckily I don’t think I’ll ever have to see myself in anything but black and gold,” Jordan said after signing his new deal, per NOF Network’s Brooke Kirchhofer.

Jordan has racked up 639 tackles, 150 tackles for loss, and 115.5 sacks in his career. He sits behind only Von Miller (123.5) for the most sacks by an active player.
