Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill has shed some light on his vague end-of-season comments in which he seemed to signal his exit from the team.
“What y’all had heard at the end of the season was frustration, bruh,” Hill said during a video game livestream captured by X user @Brittbabi. “I’ve been winning my whole life, bruh. Y’all don’t understand, I bust my ass every day, so I deserve to feel like that. I deserve to have some kind of opinion.”
He added: “We got to put some pressure on motherf—-rs … Y’all got to fix this shit, bruh. Like, come on. Add some motherf—–g dawgs.”
Hill had insinuated that his time with the Dolphins could be coming to an end after Miami’s season finale loss to the New York Jets on Jan. 5.
“I have to do what’s best for me and my family, if that’s here or wherever the case may be,” Hill said after the Week 18 defeat. “I’m about to open up that door for myself … I’m out. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career. Because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”
However, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said days later that Hill hadn’t requested a trade.
The Dolphins finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs after qualifying for the postseason in 2022 and ’23. It was the first season of Hill’s career in which his team didn’t make the playoffs and the first time the 30-year-old wasn’t selected to the Pro Bowl.
The five-time first-team All-Pro had 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns this season, his lowest marks since his 2019 campaign with the Kansas City Chiefs. The star receiver played all 17 games despite battling an ongoing wrist ailment.
Hill signed a three-year extension with Miami in August and is under contract through the 2026 season. He had previously said he wanted to retire as a Dolphin.
