WTC Final: “If India gets to 150-170, it will not be so easy for New Zealand” – Salman Butt

According to Salman Butt, in case India can reach a target of 150-170 runs against New Zealand, Virat Kohli’s team can win the match. The former Pakistani team captain believed that the Indian batter needed to hit at least 3 to 3.5 hours on a reserve day and set a goal of more than 150 runs.

Salman Butt shared his thoughts on the ongoing situation at the World Test Championship. The game reserve day is in progress now, and Butt believes that if India surpasses 150 runs, the Blackcaps would be harassed.

Salman noted that the ball was still moving at the Ageas Bowl. Therefore, India can take over control if it plays well.

Salman Butt said: “India needs to bat for three hours. They should bat for a minimum 3-3.5 hours, and if they can score more than 150 in that period, maybe they can make a match out of it,”.

According to betraja.in, he also added that: “If India gets to 150-170, it will be an interesting match because the ball is still seaming and swinging. Kane Williamson will not face 200 deliveries every time. He can also lose his wicket to a good delivery. Whatever India gets, remember New Zealand has to get it. It will not be easy for the Kiwis because it is a pressure game, it’s the last day, everything is different here,”.

Kyle Jamieson showed astounding spell against India in session one

Salman Butt supported Kyle Jamieson for firing Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujar on reserve day at the first session. He thinks that the match could end sooner than expected if Jamieson did another similar spell.

“Kyle Jamieson has bowled a phenomenal spell today. Till yesterday we were saying this Test needs more time to produce a result, but it is also possible now that the match ends early on the reserve day.”
