2027 might be two years away, but the summer movie season is already filling up, and A Quiet Place Part III is moving its release date back to avoid competition with the DCU’s Superman follow-up, Man of Tomorrow. Since the release of the original A Quiet Place back in April 2018, the series has become one of Paramount Pictures’ most reliable franchises. Part II was one of the first big hits for theaters following the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, and A Quiet Place: Day One proved audiences will follow the franchise even with new characters.
Deadline reports that Paramount Pictures has delayed A Quiet Place Part III back to July 30, 2027. The film was originally slated to open in theaters on July 9, 2027. John Krasinski, who wrote and directed both A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part Two, is set to both write and direct the third entry in the franchise. No casting details have been revealed at this moment, but many expect Emily Blunt to return.
‘A Quiet Place Part III’ Moves Away from ‘Man of Tomorrow’

A Quiet Place Part III moving back three weeks likely was due to Warner Bros. and DC Studios dating Man of Tomorrow for July 9, 2027. Despite Part III claiming the release date first, Superman right now is a much hotter property coming off a major box office and streaming run. Even if superhero movies might not be performing on the level they used before the pandemic, Man of Tomorrow will likely be riding a wave of positive buzz, and Paramount doesn’t want to face off against one of the most famous superheroes at the box office.
The long-awaited horror sequel will now open one week after the recently announced The Simpsons Movie 2. It will also open one week before Universal Pictures’ reboot of Miami Vice. The summer movie season of 2027 is already getting pretty crowded with titles like The Legend of Zelda, Star Wars: Starfighter, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and Shrek 5, just to name a few. As of this writing, A Quiet Place Part III is the only film from Paramount Pictures in that release window.
Moving A Quiet Place Part III away from Man of Tomorrow, but still keeping it in the summer movie season, makes sense from Paramount’s perspective. The franchise has performed very well during the summer movie season. Part II opened on May 28, 2021, and became the first movie of the post-pandemic era to gross over $100 million at the domestic box office. The second film ended its run with $160 million domestically and $297.4 million worldwide. Meanwhile, A Quiet Place: Day One opened on June 28, 2024, and grossed $139 million domestically and $261.8 million worldwide. Even with competition from the likes of Superman and Homer Simpson, A Quiet Place Part III stands a good chance of becoming another hit for Paramount Pictures.
