Best Medicine Exclusive: Martin & Louisa’s Heat Rises as Port Wennians Head to the Blood Factory

If you’ve been following along with our Best Medicine coverage, then you know how much we love this series.

In fact, we loved it before it even aired. Our site owner, Carissa, and I actually had the privilege of visiting the set back in October on a perfect, crisp autumn day just outside of New York City, and it was one of the most delightful experiences ever.

The Port Wenn community comes to life, and the love that you feel onscreen is every bit as present offscreen as well.

Tonight’s episode is special for us because it’s the one the series was filming when we visited.

And you may even catch a glimpse of us in the background of the episode, titled “Blood Factory” which is going to be such a delightful episode, especially for those fans of romance.

Yes, we know how crazy that sounds, given it’s an hour devoted to one of the town’s quirky annual events, a celebration of a gory novel that takes place there, a devotion to the horror genre.

Of course, anyone who has noticed that poor Martin is a hemophiliac will understand how this can pose a problem for him.

But there’s never a dull moment in Port Wenn, and Louisa, Mark, and others come down with something that could potentially derail this event and the potential surprise visit by the horror novel’s author.

You know, just Port Wenn problems!

We can attest that this episode is a fun one, it certainly was for us on set watching how everything comes to life.

The cast was charming, warm, and having so much fun despite the hours of hard work and constant filming, and Josh Charles absolutely exuded all charm, grace, class, and leadership as he filmed the scenes we were in with such devotion and care and had an infectious ability to keep morale high.

It was truly a delightful experience, and maybe, you’ll catch us in the frame, or maybe you won’t, but we certainly had the time of our lives.

We also scored an exclusive sneak peek of what tonight’s episode will entail.

In our clip, it’s been a point of concern that Louisa may be battling something, as she’s experienced a series of fainting spells that have Martin concerned.

And he’s worried about the slew of things that it could be connected to.

In the clip, Martin takes Louisa’s health very seriously, even if Louisa and Elaine don’t.

They think he’s being a bit of a drama queen when he outlines all of the things she could have as a result of this.

Martin does sound like he’s catastrophizing, and he also is letting it show just how much he cares about Louisa.

It especially gets a bit awkward when his thorough examination must include him checking her glands and examing a rash developing on her chest.

Martin is always a professional, but it’s also not too difficult to see that he’s setting his attraction aside.

And Louisa can’t hide hers either. In fact, it’s difficult to let your doctor treat you and perform embarassing procedures when you already have feelings for them!

That’s possibly what makes Louisa flee when things get a bit … awkward!

As for Elaine, well, she’s always going to do Elaine things, and that includes her social media promotion for the Blood Factory.

WE can’t give you the full tour that we got when we walked around the Blood Factory and even filmed there, but Elaine certainly can.

For a full idea of what the set looked like and some great Blood Factory fun, here is Elaine’s BTS tour of the affair, and even a tease of the type of fun she plans to get into with a certain handsome Port Wennian.
