Camp Cretaceous Unleashes Trailer for Final Season

There’s hope on the horizon, but the road to it is perilous. Earlier today, Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for the upcoming season of its hit series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. The trailer, which can be viewed below, boasts that this will be the final season.

Spoilers ahead for Season 4 of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

The trailer offers a ton of stuff, with throwbacks to both Jurassic World and Jurassic Park tying in with the race for survival that these poor kids can’t seem to escape from. All four kids are still accounted for, Darius (Paul-Mikel Williams), Brooke (Jenna Ortega), Kenji (Ryan Potter), Ben (Sean Giambrone), Yasmina (Kausar Mohammed), and Sammy (Raini Rodriguez), but can’t seem to get all the way out of trouble. In season 4, the group winds up on a new, unnamed island owned by Mantah Corp, a rival company bent on grabbing vital research from Masrani to use for their own purposes. The group soon discovers that the island is where Mantah Corp performs cruel, high tech experiments on their own captive dinosaurs. After witnessing these experiments, the kids vow to help the dinosaurs as well as trying to make their own getaway for home. After successfully pulling off a plan against the lead programmer Kash D. Langford (Haley Joel Osment), the tables turn as the kids are surrounded. The season ends on a cliffhanger where we are introduced to Kenji’s father, Mr. Kon, who is revealed to be the president of Mantah Corp.

What to Expect in Season 5 of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

Netflix

Season 4 was a significant change for the series from start to finish. Mantah Corp’s island brought a fresh new environment for the kids. Instead of an abandoned park, now there are underground tunnels, high-tech labs, biomes of major climates, and all-new dinosaurs. The new revelation of Kenji’s father also brings a whole new level of emotional drama to the series. Since the first season, Kenji has shown to think highly of his father, despite not being very close with him. He often bragged about his father’s wealth, even bringing the group to his dad’s private apartment on Isla Nublar in season 3. Judging from Kenji’s reaction to his dad’s appearance in season 4, it’s likely he’s been unaware of his dad’s real job and involvement with both Mantah Corp and the re-development of Isle Nublar.

Because of this revelation, it’s probably safe to guess that the final season will heavily focus on Kenji, and will probably force him to choose between his friends and his old man. In a few of the group shots, where the kids are escaping and spying on Mantah, Kenji is notably absent. Considering Mr. Kon’s reaction to finding Kenji on the island, it’s easy to guess he was also unaware of his son’s adventures. Though this brings up questions of why a rescue party for Kenji wasn’t sent to the island after the camp, as well as Jurassic World, fell. Whether this means that Mr. Kon simply accepted his son’s possible death, or just didn’t care, is a mystery for now.

If you’re a fan of Jurassic Park, you owe it to yourself to check this series out. While it’s a show for children, it still keeps the stakes as high as the movies that started the franchise. These kids are in a true fight for survival, but this time it’s not just for themselves but for the dinosaurs they’re trying to escape from. It’s got a ton of heart and plenty to enjoy for young and old fans alike! The final season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will premiere on Netflix on July 21st, 2022.
