More sad news is coming in as Extra correspondent Cheslie Kryst has reportedly died. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Kryst was found dead at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday morning on the sidewalk outside of the Orion Condominium building in Manhattan where she’d been living. The New York Police Department has ruled her passing a suicide and it is believed she willingly jumped from several stories up to her death. She was 30 years old.
“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie,” a statement from Kryst’s family reads. “Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on Extra. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”
