This is going to hurt.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-01-26 suggest the beginning of the end of a miraculous resurrection.
I’m not surprised, but I’m bracing myself for Abe and Theo’s heartbreak, although this ending also feels like a cop-out.

Lexie Pressures Abe Just Before Bad News Hits
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-01-26 have Lexie asking Abe if he would have chosen her if Paulina hadn’t stepped aside.
The official spoiler calls it “persuasion,” but if you ask me, this is pressure — Lexie trying to force Abe to nullify any feelings he has for Paulina and focus entirely on her.
These types of resurrection plots are annoying because they always lead to this bizarre type of triangle, where the surviving spouse must decide between their newly resurrected life partner and the new person they fell for.
It worked well for John and Marlena once upon a time, but now it happens so much that it’s not emotional. However, this time felt different because Abe has been struggling so much, and Theo’s autism affects how he reacts to this weird situation.

For that reason, I’m not sure how I feel about the possibility that Lexie’s resurrection is only temporary.
On the one hand, it was inevitable. Days of Our Lives broke the news early that Nikki Crawford (Lexie) would only be staying for about five months, and Lexie’s new death is the only logical end to any of this.
Plus, the drama will be off the charts when she dies again. EJ will put Abe and Theo through the pain of losing her all over again when they’d already dealt with her death years ago, and that could lead to some powerful scenes.
However, I don’t want to go through that pain — especially since Chanel already has cancer, and it’s likely this story will also lead to heartbreaking decisions.
Plus, if Lexie is going to die again, the conflict between her and Paulina loses some of its power.

It’s the same problem that I have with sitting through the grief scenes when we know the character isn’t dead — it’s intense, realistic emotion, but there’s no point in investing in it when we know the situation is about to be reversed.
In this case, the anguish that Abe feels over having to choose between Paulina and Lexie is pointless because, in the end, Lexie is going to die within a few months, and Abe likely will end up back with Paulina. So why put the viewers through all this?
Lexie has been borderline obnoxious throughout this whole ordeal, making it easy to look forward to when she’s gone, and that doesn’t help this storyline either.
We take soap operas as seriously as any other type of TV.

Still, it’s annoying that this is all being built up, only for Lexie to suffer a medical crisis and die all over again.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-01-26 put this in motion for the first time, but it’ll probably be a few months before this story comes to its heartbreaking conclusion.

For now, Rolf tells EJ that one of the rats he had successfully resurrected suffered an unfortunate fate, suggesting that the rat reversed course and its body gave out again.
It seems the next step should be to determine why the rat died, whether it’s an outlier, and perhaps develop a solution. That would be the scientific thing to do, not that any of this is scientific.
Rolf is supposed to be a brilliant scientist, even if he has no sense of ethics, so let’s see some evidence of that. (Also, it would be nice if we stopped pretending that this is the first time he’s resurrected anybody using a magic injection)
The spoiler video could be misleading, of course, but it appears that later in the week, Lexie has some sort of pain, suggesting that her health is about to fail.
Since she originally died of a brain tumor, I don’t know why she’d have stomach pain, but I guess it could be an effect of the resurrection drug.

There May Also Be More Heartbreak Ahead For Chanel
She and Johnny are among the people leaving Days of Our Lives by the end of the year, but it better not be from Chanel dying!
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-01-26 suggest that Chanel will get more bad news when she sees the oncologist.

There’s likely going to be the type of conflict that belongs on Chicago Med: Chanel has to decide whether to accept treatment that could put the baby at risk.
I wonder if Chanel will have to choose between a premature delivery and letting the baby stay in utero, which would expose it to toxins. That would be a more interesting story than the “chemotherapy or baby” story we appear to be gearing up for.
(Peacock/Screenshot)
I do not want to see her lose this baby, though I’m glad Lani and Eli are there to support her and Paulina.
Still, I’m hoping for a miracle cure or a little-known specialist.
