Emma Myers went to a real-life werewolf camp to prepare for her role on Wednesday.
Netflix
Tim Burton’s comedy horror series Wednesday has received plenty of praise from viewers and critics alike. So it is no surprise that many fans of the new Netflix show are still eager to learn more about the work that went into creating the series. More recently, actor Emma Myers (who plays Enid Sinclair on Wednesday) stopped to chat with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and discuss how she prepared to play the character. Meyers also revealed that she’d trained at a real-life werewolf camp in preparation for the role.
Unlike prior adaptations of the Addams Family, the new Netflix series, Wednesday, has a truly unique concept and focuses on just one member of the spooky, kooky family instead of the whole gang. Following the titular character to Nevermore boarding school, fans are introduced to plenty of new characters, including Wednesday school roommate Enid. Myers’ character is shown as Wednesday’s polar opposite, a young woman filled with optimism, cheer, and a love for bright colors.

Emma Myers Told Jimmy Fallon How She Got Into the ‘Werewolf Spirit’

However, unlike the rest of her family, Enid is a late bloomer and hasn’t fully undergone a complete werewolf transformation. Enid’s only wolfy element for most of the series is a pair of claws that emerge as an emotional response. In episode six of the series, the audience is introduced to the rest of Enid’s family. To prepare to get into the “werewolf spirit,” Myers underwent some unusual training methods.
During her talk show debut, Myers told Jimmy Fallon, “We did this werewolf bootcamp one time because there’s episode six where the parents come and all the family comes. I had four or five brothers and they really had to get them in the werewolf spirit. So they asked me to come in and do, you know, werewolf bootcamp, and I was like ‘what does this mean’… I’ve never done so much parkour in my life, running on the floor on all fours, leaping over things. We had these stunt guys pretending to be sheep, and we would like, crawl around them in a circle.”
Fallon also discussed other elements of the series with the Netflix star. When asked what she knew about the Adams Family before Wednesday, Myers said, “I had watched the ’90s movies growing up, but I didn’t know it was, like, a TV show and there’s a comic and everything. I had no idea. So, then, when I got the role, I kind of dove into it, and I love it. It’s so fun.”
Myers also revealed the similarities and differences between her and her character. The actor said, “I’m an optimist. I think that’s one of the only things I have in common with Enid is that I am an optimist. I don’t like wearing colorful clothes. I don’t – I’m not an extrovert. I’m an introvert.”
Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
