The striking images were revealed to an eager public, heralding the next chapter in Sheridan’s empire of Western TV shows. Headlined by the brilliant two-time Emmy nominee (and executive producer here) David Oyelowo, Lawmen: Bass Reeves follows the groundbreaking story of its namesake, Bass Reeves, the first Black U.S. Marshal in the American West. An eight-episode series, the first visuals of the show were showcased via Vanity Fair.

The images introduce us to an ensemble cast: David Oyelowo as Reeves, Lauren E.
