‘Lilo & Stitch’ Gets Stitch-Inspired Popcorn Bucket From Regal Cinemas

Summer movie season is officially here, and Disney’s new Lilo & Stitch film will hit theaters just in time for Memorial Day weekend. However, with the growing trend of collectible popcorn buckets inundating the theatrical landscape, it wouldn’t be right for Experiment 626 (Chris Sanders) and his lovable human friend, Lilo Pelekai (Maia Kealoha), to have their upcoming adventure without their movie’s own snack container. Fans can check out the brand-new image of the adorable Stitch popcorn bucket (below), which will be offered at select Regal Cinemas.

Unlike some of the Stitch popcorn buckets unveiled at this year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas, in which 626 didn’t show off their teeth, this latest version features the mischievous alien experiment happily smiling. MovieWeb reached out to Regal Cinemas via the company’s X, formerly Twitter, page to confirm its availability, and the theater chain responded by saying the following:

“This is an official image of our Lilo and Stitch popcorn bucket! Please note: the surfboard is not included. Collectibles are available at select theaters while supplies last. For more details specific to your location, please visit your local theater.”

Along with the Lilo & Stitch popcorn bucket unveiling this morning (Tuesday, May 6), Regal Cinemas also revealed an adorable “Mayhem Container” bearing the likeness of Experiment 626, which comes complete with a built-in straw to enjoy a cold beverage. Plus, the theater chain’s “Surfin’ Combo” offers customers the opportunity to purchase a popcorn pail featuring an image of Stitch and adorned with his ears to carry the snack container. The combo also includes a drink, which will be served in a frozen beverage glass with its own plastic straw. Check out all of these must-have collectibles in the image below.

Regal Cinemas Will Offer Plenty of ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Goodies This Summer

Regal Cinemas was quite busy promoting its new Lilo & Stitch merch today (May 6) in anticipation of the Disney remake joining the summer movie season. The theater chain’s unveiling comes on the heels of AMC Theaters’ own Stitch promotion, in which an animatronic Experiment 626 scanned customers’ movie tickets as a real-life box office usher would do. However, Regal was hardly through with just the announcement of its popcorn bucket, “Surfin’ Combo,” and “Mayhem Container.”

Additionally, fans can receive a “Phone Buddy” when they purchase a ticket to see the film during Regal’s “The Feel It in 4DX” fan event, which will be held on Thursday, May 22. The theater chain also announced that a new Dippin’ Dots flavor will be available at their concession stands to celebrate the film. The announcement reads as follows:

“Say Aloha to a new Dippin’ Dots flavor🌺Send your taste buds on a tropical adventure with Hawaiian Crumble Dippin’ Dots. This island-inspired treat is a refreshing combo of pineapple ice, creamy coconut ice-cream, and delicious cake crumbles. Taste the paradise, available only for a limited time.”

Tickets for Lilo & Stitch are now on sale, and the remake of Disney’s must-see 2002 movie drops in theaters on Friday, May 23. In addition to Regal Cinemas’ 4DX fan event, early preview screenings of director Dean Fleischer Camp’s film also begin on Thursday, May 22. Lilo & Stitch and Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning will go head-to-head in a lucrative $200+ million Memorial Day weekend showdown, but the Mouse House’s latest big-screen release is eyeing a $100 million (three-day)/$120+ million (four-day) domestic debut all on its own.
