The competition for who will play the next James Bond seems to be a pretty close one at present, with the likes of former Superman Henry Cavill, The Gentlemen star Theo James, and Bullet Train’s Aaron Taylor-Johnson usually topping the list. But now we have a new name slowly making his way up the ranking, and no doubt many fans would be eternally grateful if he were to win the 007 role in Amazon’s upcoming reboot.
Game of Thrones and Eternals star Richard Madden
is now back in the fray, with his odds improving recently (via Paddy Power). Now standing at 12/1, Madden, who has shown off his affinity for action before in both the MCU, action thriller The Take, and the TV series Bodyguard, has been rumored for the role in the past and now joins the likes of Callum Turner, James Norton, and Tom Hardy as a fellow frontrunner.

While we await the announcement regarding which actor will be chosen to play the coveted role of the action icon himself, a new favorite for the iconic Bond Girl role in the reboot has recently emerged, with the odds seriously improving for The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood to join the action-packed world of 007.
Wood has seen her odds of being cast as the next Bond Girl slashed in recent weeks, leaping from 25/1 to 8/1 following her recent role in the hit HBO black comedy. Alongside Wood are Euphoria and fellow The White Lotus star Sydney Sweeney, who leads at 3/1, with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka currently in second place at 7/2.
While we await more official details about the future of James Bond, various rumors have since emerged, with a major one claiming that Amazon has fast-tracked the project since taking over creative control. Further rumors have claimed that the franchise will center on a much younger version of the character, with several new names now rumored for the coveted role. These include MCU star and Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, The White Lotus and Citadel actor Leo Woodall, Barbie and SAS Rogue Heroes star Connor Swindell, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’s Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Heartstopper star Kit Connor, Gladiator II lead Paul Mescal, and Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi.

As of 2012, there have been twenty two films in the Eon Productions series, with a twenty third, Skyfall, due for release on 26 October 2012. The film will star Daniel Craig in his third portrayal of Bond: he is the sixth actor to play Bond in the Eon series. There have also been two independent productions of Bond films, Casino Royale, a 1967 spoof, and Never Say Never Again, a 1983 remake of an earlier Eon-produced film, Thunderball.
The films are renowned for a number of features, including the musical accompaniment, with the theme songs to the films having picked up Academy Award nominations on several occasions.
