As earlier reports confirmed and episode three displayed, popular artist Megan Thee Stallion is canon to the connected world.

Megan joins the show in a series of events, from Pug (Josh Segarra) believing he’s dating the famous rapper before finding out he’s been catfished. But, by the end of the episode, the real Megan Thee Stallion appears, letting everyone know she can’t be imitated. During an interview with The Wrap, Tatiana Maslany, head writer Jessica Gao, and director Kat Coiro discuss the work needed to bring Megan Thee Stallion to the MCU. In the interview, Gao reveals it was only possible because of Jameela Jamil, who plays Titania on She-Hulk.

“It was because Jameela Jamil knew her personally from working on ‘Legendary’. And so when she brought her up, we were like, ‘Wait, can that — is that real? Can that really happen? And because Tatiana is an incredible dancer, I wrote that extra little scene last minute, that little tag where they dance together, and hopefully it’s one of the happiest days of her life because she, I mean, she was dancing with one of her favorite people on Earth.”
Kat Coiro reiterated Gao’s statement, saying how excited Maslany was to work with Megan Thee Stallion. She says, “It was an incredible moment for all of us to see Tatiana’s genuine excitement at having Megan on set.” She continues, saying, “Actually, this is another little instance where her excitement led to that scene being created, because everybody knew how excited she was. And what we discovered when they started dancing is that Tatiana can twerk with the best of them. And again, it’s a CGI character, so you might think the twerking is manipulated. It is not. That is all Tatiana. She’s amazing.”
Maslany Says Dancing With Megan Thee Stallion Was the ‘Greatest Joy of My Life’

Maslany couldn’t be happier with the events of She-Hulk, as she’s living out her dream every week while being in an MCU project alongside Megan Thee Stallion. During her interview on The Wrap, the actress who plays the titular character in the series joked about her training regiment for the dance scene, saying, “Like I said, I’ve dreamt of that moment. And so I had trained. There was years of training.” The training paid off, as Maslany called the moment the “greatest joy of my life.”

“It is the greatest joy of my life, truly one of the highlights of my entire existence on the planet. I’m such a huge fan of hers. And when I found out this was happening — Jessica Gao told me, I think she told me like three day before it was gonna happen. Because she was like, ‘I don’t want you to be in a catonic state for two weeks. If I had told you this too early, we would not have gotten any filming done.’ So it truly was the greatest. She’s amazing. She’s a queen.”
