Will Trent Season 4 Wishlist: The Road to Recovery, a Strong Faith Story Arc & What We Need Next

Will Trent Season 4 Wishlist: The Road to Recovery, a Strong Faith Story Arc & What We Need Next

Will Trent returns in a few weeks, and we’re anxiously awaiting after those emotional cliffhangers at the end of Will Trent Season 3.

The Will Trent EPs recently previewed Season 4, including a five-month time jump.

While skipping some of the hospital scenes is a relief, we hope to see some of the recovery scenes still, as many characters received medical diagnoses or shocks in those final moments.

That’s only our first wish, since we long to see Faith get her own story, since she’s the character who has yet to have a genuine character arc.

We also want to see Angie in a healthy, happy relationship, whether it’s with Seth, Will, or someone else. That’s just the beginning.

Seeing the Road to Recovery Is an Important Part of Will Trent Season 4

So many characters should still be recovering when Will Trent Season 4 begins. Will had his life turned upside down when he learned the identity of his birth father, and Amanda almost died.

He also realized he was too late to win back Angie’s heart, which should have caused him to break down emotionally.

It appears from the promo that Will is still in therapy and tries to convince his therapist he’s fine, since if he allows himself to feel anything, he’ll explode.

His emotional recovery is essential, since Will believes in being strong and not letting himself break.

Part of this process will be forging a new relationship with Caleb and seeing how they can understand each other later in life.

We know the least about Amanda’s recovery, but she’s as strong and stubborn as Will, so she likely won’t let anything keep her down, especially if it affects him.

Hopefully, we’ll see her struggle both physically and emotionally as she fights her way back, leaning on Faith for support.

I would love for her and Will to talk more, after that monologue he had in her hospital room in the Will Trent Season 3 finale.

We’re worried for Ormewood since the Will Trent EPs teased that he has cancer. Again, we need to see the emotional beats of him in treatment, and hopefully, things are going better since we jumped ahead several months.

Let’s see how Max and Cooper are coping with this diagnosis, and how Faith living with them all has eased some of the burden.

We’d like to see more of Ormewood’s family during this time, such as his ex-wife, Gina, offering her support, or his mom arriving to fuss over him.

A crisis often leads to family popping in.

Highlight Faith’s Personal and Romantic Life in Will Trent Season 4

Faith has had the least amount of character arcs compared to the rest of the main characters. Most of her stories have dealt with her son, Jeremy.

We’d love to see more of him, and we love their mother-son relationship, but we also want to learn about the rest of her family.

Will Trent Season 3 Episode 5 was a loose adaptation from one of Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent novels, “Fallen.

While Evelyn Mitchell was still kidnapped, and the episode highlighted the complicated mother-daughter bond, it did not introduce Faith’s irate brother.

Viewers long to learn more about Faith’s brother and father, especially how her relationship with them is now that Jeremy is older, since they opposed her teenage pregnancy.

We also want to see Faith happy in a romantic relationship. We haven’t seen her in one since she dated Luke.

She had potential with Elijah since it explored her love of dancing, a hobby she’d neglected because of her motherhood responsibilities.

I loved how she lit up around him and lit up on the dance floor. I want more of that happiness for Faith.

Highlight Angie’s Emotional Growth and Show Her in a Happy and Healthy Relationship

It’s no secret that Angie Polaski is my girl, and I wish wonderful things for her.

Thanks to the time jump, Angie’s in her second trimester and has to navigate a new normal with work and in her relationships.

I’ll admit Seth (Scott Foley) seems like a nice guy, and he and Angie have a healthier relationship than she and Will did, but there are still issues.

Angie works as a GBI agent, which means she’ll be in frequent danger. Her fearlessness and loyalty were some of the qualities Seth loved, except when she leaped into danger to rescue Will.

That’s never going to change. Angie and Will have cared for and saved each other since they were kids. They may not be romantically involved, but they’ll always be family.

If Seth is going to be linked to Angie long-term, I need him to respect Will’s place in her life without making her feel guilty about it.

She loves Seth and their baby, but she’ll always care about Will, too. Angie deserves a man who understands her history and accepts her fearlessness and career choice.

Integrate the GBI and APD More, Mixing Up Partnerships

While the GBI and APD still work separately, some of the best episodes have been when both organizations work together to solve the case.

There has been more humor, especially when Franklin or Ormewood team up with someone new.

( Zac Popik/Disney)

We’ll never forget the re-enactment Will had everyone do to learn who poisoned the Sorvanos on Will Trent Season 3 Episode 3.

We’re hoping that Will Trent Season 4 continues to balance humor with the crimes and further build relationships.

Sometimes it would be fun to mix up the teams and pair Franklin and Will, or Faith and Angie, if the entire team is involved.

I think Will could learn different ways of questioning suspects from Franklin, who has been around a long time.

I really want to see Angie and Faith in more scenes because Faith understands balancing a career and motherhood, so she’ll be able to offer Angie some advice about working this high-stress job and being pregnant.

Bring Paul Campano Back, Now That Mark-Paul Gosselaar Is Available

We’re all grieving the loss of Found, but this could be the perfect opportunity to have Paul Campano return, since Mark-Paul Gosselaar would have time.

Will and Paul had such an entertaining connection during Will Trent Season 1. From the Will Trent Season 4 trailer, it appears that Will will struggle with his past coming back to haunt him.

Paul was there to support Will when James Ulster last surfaced to target those he loved.

That’s the fun part about long-time frenemies. They’re almost like siblings. They can poke you where it hurts, but they’ll defend you if anyone else comes after you.

(ABC Promo (Screenshot))

We want Paul to return because he’s the only person besides Angie who has known Will since childhood.

He may be able to help Will through his emotional crisis, and regardless, these two also bring the laughs.
