Old Navy Seamless Rib-Knit Tank Top I Editor Review

These days, I’m not one to drop big money on something ultra trendy. Like, er, everyone, I’ve recently found the value of owning a solid selection of wardrobe essentials that I know I’ll wear on rotation for years to come. In pursuit of some more, I recently laid eyes on the Old Navy Seamless Rib-Knit Tank Top ($15–$20, originally $20), which has a massive fan club (just look at all those five-star ratings. As someone who loves a seamless fit and a chic ribbed-knit texture, I was nervous to see if my size was available in any of the nine colors offered but was relieved (and excited!) to see it was in stock in navy blue. My honest thoughts on it, ahead.

What I Like About This Tank Top

What I like about this tank top is how versatile it is. I think it lends itself to just about any casual occasion and will look good with jeans, shorts, a skirt, you name it. Technically, this tank top is loungewear; in other words, it was created to pair with sweatpants or cotton shorts, but in reality, it definitely deserves debuting outside of your home.

Another takeaway is that it’s super soft and stretchy. It’s made of 71 percent modal, 24 percent nylon, and five percent spandex, which creates fabric so comfortable and breathable that you may even want to get a second to wear with shorts as summer PJs.

What’s Worth Noting

While this tank top has primarily five-star reviews, there are a few consistencies among those who didn’t love it as much as others. For starters, some shoppers deem it too tight or too cropped, so if that doesn’t sound like an ideal fit, you may want to size up. On me, my usual size, medium, fell to my hip and still looked like a bodysuit when tucked into a pair of jeans.

Another popular comment is that it’s thin and sheer. I agree with the latter, but I’m just fine with it, especially since I plan to wear this on repeat on hot summer days. As for it being sheer, I didn’t have this problem because I ordered the dark-navy hue, so this may be something you want to keep in mind before ordering it in a lighter color like cream or light pink.

Who Is This Tank Top Best For?

This tank top is best for those on a mission to acquire more elevated basics that can be mixed and matched to perfection.

  • This tank top comes in sizes XS–4X.
  • To keep it in optimal shape, machine wash in cold water and tumble dry on a low setting.
  • This tank top comes in a total of nine colors.
