Ramsey, Lonsdale, and Ramamurthy are Set to Return to The Flash’s Final Season
The Flash debuted in 2014 and starred Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash. The show was an instant hit, with its innovative storytelling and vivid visuals making it one of the most popular series on The CW for years. The Flash’s success helped to fuel the growth of The CW Multiverse as it expanded with new shows like Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. Each of these new series featured its own unique style and narrative approach, adding more depth to the ever-growing universe. Grant Gustin reflected on his nearly ten-year journey in an Instagram video as news of the show’s cancelation circulated.
Fans of The Flash will be delighted to hear that David Ramsey, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Sendhil Ramamurthy are returning for the show’s ninth and final season. According to Deadline, all three actors will guest star in episode 9 of the series. David Ramsey is set to reprise his role as John Diggle/Spartan, a character that originated from Arrow. However, Ramsey has already appeared in 10 episodes of The Flash since its first season and is sure to bring plenty of charisma to the show’s last outing. Keiynan Lonsdale will also be back, reprising his Wally West/Kid Flash role. Lonsdale has been a fan-favorite since his first appearance on the series in season 3. Finally, Sendhil Ramamurthy will appear in episode 9 as Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork. Despite his relatively short tenure on the show, this character remains one of the series’ most interesting villains.
Eric Wallace is the executive producer of the Arrowverse series and had the following to say about John Diggle and David Ramsey:
“As one of the legacy Arrowverse characters who helped start it all, John Diggle holds a special place in our hearts, as well as the fans. Plus, the commanding presence and commitment to excellence actor/director David Ramsey brings to the screen each-and every time is truly inspiring. So, of course, it was a no-brainer to have Diggle join Team Flash in our final season! So, get ready for a very emotional reunion as John Diggle aka Spartan helps protect Central City alongside Team Flash one, last time.”
The final season of The Flash arrives on Feb. 8 at 8 pm on The CW.
