Bob Odenkirk Joins The Bear Season 2

After the enormous success of its first season, The Bear is set to return for a second batch of episodes to the FX’s and Hulu’s screen, and it will include one of the stars of the moment, Bob Odenkirk, right after the end of Better Call Saul (via Variety).

The Bear follows the agitated life of chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, who comes back to his hometown after working in some of the most acclaimed restaurants around the world, when his older brother passes away. He will have to take care of the family business, an Italian beef sandwich shop in Chicago, that his brother run with a friend.

Stocked in a place that seems closer to bankruptcy than success, he’ll do his best to save the shop to honor his brother’s memory while dealing with duel, anxiety and sleeping issues, and a bunch of secrets behind his brother’s passing.

Starring Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Abby Elliott the series was one of the biggest surprises of 2022 with many critics calling it the best of the year. So adding an important name such as Odenkirk to its cast seems like the perfect way to hold the bar high.

The first season of The Bear ended with Carmy discovering large sums of cash stuffed inside tomato cans in the kitchen, so the second season will probably find the shop running again, but with everyone trying to discover why the money was there and what it has to do with the recent tragedy.

Acting For a Cause/Wiseau-Films

After participating in Breaking Bad, Odenkirk’s character Saul had such an impact that it earned his own show. Better Call Saul ended last year after a six seasons run that was as successful as the original show, winning a few awards and remembered as one of the best shows of the last decade.

Now that he’s done with the character, besides joining The Bear, Bob continues to work with AMC on Lucky Hank, a black comedy released in March of this year that had him as the main star. The story follows a university professor who is the head of an underfunded department, whose wife begins to question their lives causing him to have doubts about his life as well.

Recently, the actor was part of a remake of the so-called worst movie ever, The Room, where he’ll be playing the main character. The film, starred and directed by Tommy Wiseau, focuses on a love triangle between the protagonist, his girlfriend and his best friend. The plot is reportedly based on true events from Wiseau’s life, as he has stated many times.

The movie also stars Bella Heathcote, Greg Sestero, Kate Siegel, Mike Flanagan, Arturo Castro, and Cameron Kasky, and is produced and directed by Brando Crawford. The Room remake will be out in June directly on digital as a part of the 20th year celebration of the original movie released.
