5 September Skincare Launches You Don’t Want to Miss

1.5K

Looking to freshen up your skin routine? September has lots of new and indulgent options to keep you healthy and glowing. Here are a few of our favorites.

This brand new skincare line combines the power of prescription actives with the premium sensibility and immediate payoff of the best over-the-counter, luxury creams. It’s a whole new level of personalization in prescription skincare, with every formula tailored not only to an individual’s skin concerns, but also to their skin type, skin tone, level of reactivity, hyperpigmentation levels, and lifestyle.

(Cottonball)

Here’s how it works:

  • Customers visit Cottonball.com, where they share their skincare issues and current regimen through a skincare questionnaire.
  • Responses are then reviewed by a responding clinician to determine the appropriate prescription.
  • 48 hours later, the customer receives a custom-compounded prescription treatment formulated specifically for their skin, one that combines carefully selected prescription-strength actives such as retinoids, brightening agents, and skin-supporting compounds. With the formula freshly compounded for each customer, they’re getting the highest possible efficacy out of their treatment.
  • Customers can  then message the dermatology care team via Cottonball portal for questions as they use their treatment.

Launching September 1, the brand is offering a curated collection of six core products, including:

VX.1 Advanced Anti-Aging & Repair Complex

(Clé de Peau Beauté)

This powerful and restorative recovery cream is inspired by regenerative medicine and designed to bolster skin’s resilience, firmness, and minimize the appearance of wrinkles. It also nourishes the moisture barrier after photofacial treatments for a revitalized, radiant complexion. Powered by Ruby Peptide, it supports skin’s visible resilience and improves the appearance of age-related skin concerns. Skin is soothed with intense moisture, strengthening its natural barrier, and becomes visibly even-toned.

Tested by over 100 women, after 8 weeks 97% felt their skin looked more youthful, 98% said their skin was plumper, firmer, and more elastic, with a more even tone, and 100% said they would like to continue using the cream.

$450 for 50ml

(Clé de Peau Beauté)

The newest addition to Clé de Peau’s detoxifying Synactif collection, this purifying and skin-regenerating body treatment visibly lifts the skin and boosts firmness for a resculpted look. Inspired by detoxifying spa treatments it was developed to transform your body care routine into a sensory ritual, especially when paired with Clé de Peau Beauté’s sculpting massage to stimulate lymphatic flow and drainage.

It is formulated with ginger rhizome extract to maintain reduced puffiness, pinus sylvestris cone extract to support your skin’s purification system, energizing caffeine to defend against external/environmental aggressors, alpinia speciosa leaf extract to support elastin, and condensed hyaluronic acid, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, and peptide complex to infuse moisture, while supporting enhanced elasticity, for plump, youthful firmness.

All this an a wonderfully soothing and subtle rose scent.

$400 for 200ml

(Ultra Violette)

Technically, this launched on August 31, but we’ll let that slide because this is definitely a product worth knowing about as it is the first sunscreen in the US market to contain Bemotrizinol (BEMT), the broad-spectrum chemical filter approved by the FDA in June 2026 and the first new sunscreen filter cleared by the FDA in over 25 years.

Compared with older chemical filters, BEMT carries a lighter chemical load, is associated with fewer instances of irritation, and is effective at lower concentrations, leaving more room in the formula for skincare actives and enabling more cosmetically elegant, lightweight textures with no white cast.

“This is such a win for the US consumer,” says says Ava Matthews, co-founder of cult Australian skin protection brand Ultra Violette. “It broadens the range of SPF formats available, allows for more elegant, cosmetically pleasing textures, and supports the kind of robust protection that matters for overall skin health including skin cancers, skin ageing, melasma and pigmentation. I am hopeful that BEMT’s categorization of GRASE is also going to help shift the broader conversation around chemical sunscreens, which are so often unfairly stigmatized despite all their many benefits.”

“We are incredibly proud to be the first to bring our SPF products formulated with Bemotrizinol to Sephora and the wider US market,” adds co-founder Bec Jefferd. “We have developed products using BEMT in our global range for close to 10 years, which is why we’ve been able to move fast not just with the launch of Unblock Screen, but with a pipeline of BEMT-powered products to soon follow, starting with the highly anticipated launch of Fave Screen in January 2027.”

$40 for 50ml. Available now at Ultraviolettespf.com and Sephora.com and in-store at Sephora locations nationwide starting October 2.
