Tommy Dorfman entered a new decade in a minidress worth celebrating. In honor of her birthday on May 13, the actress shared an Instagram post — captioned “30!!!!!!” — wearing a slightly sheer, taupe shift dress in a shiny mesh material with diagonal seam details. The dress’s high neckline was offset by its sleeveless silhouette and short hemline.
The “13 Reasons Why” star’s sheer and shiny birthday look hit the mark on two major spring trends right now. We’ve seen prime examples of lustrous looks this season, from Kim Kardashian‘s black latex bodycon dress to Lana Condron’s navy-blue off-the-shoulder A-line gown, and Gigi Hadid’s maroon latex bodysuit. Meanwhile, Dua Lipa’s baby-blue Prada dress, Olivia Rodrigo‘s chainmail minidress, and, of course, Kardashian’s controversial Met Gala dress were sheer like the fashion girl’s birthday suit.
Dorfman’s birthday outfit was styled in part by Tyler Angino, who also styled her Met Gala look for the recent Gilded Glamour-themed event, where she stunned in a futuristic, floor-length Christopher Kane gown in a rubbery forest-green material. Angino had help from stylist David Casavant, hairstylist Blake Erik, and makeup artist Celia Burton for this more minimal birthday look. To spice up the classic shift-dress silhouette, Dorfman accessorized with two gold rings from Darius Jewels stacked on the same finger. One was a simple, chunky band with a small, single diamond. The other was a very timely toi et moi, featuring an emerald and a diamond side by side.
