Chris Colfer is enjoying the life of a theater kid, but he is also communicating his elation. The actor and author took to social media to tell the world about what he termed “the most wonderful week of theater” with an extremely packed schedule that could easily exhaust even the most ardent art lover. For Colfer, it was a matter of supporting his friends as he effortlessly managed the eight shows in seven days.
He could not stop mentioning his star-studded list of friends including Kristin Chenoweth, Jonathan Groff, Kevin McHale, Drew Droege, Pete Zias, and the fantastic June Squibb. Colfer’s post was full of encouragement and was testimony to the close bonds that exist even when the performers are not on stage. It is very clear that for Colfer, nothing compares to the feeling of “seeing your friends shine on the Broadway stage.”
Many of his followers felt both happiness and jealousy at the same time after the news went public. One user expressed the time in saying, “My little theatre kid heart is soooo jealous right now.” This feeling was echoed by many others. One of the comments read, “8 shows in 7 days??? the dream life,” thus indicating how really wonderful this theatrical invasion was.
The comments were quickly turned into a debate where Broadway fans and buzz about insiders were voicing their opinions. One fan was so anxious to get the review that they asked, “and which was your favorite tho!” Another fan made a question about a specific show, writing, “But how did you like #Clarkston? You never said.” The desire for information was apparent as people wanted to do it via Colfer’s expert vision.
Colfer’s also-embracing-voices-support-role was considered the best and the most far-reaching ever. “Your friends are lucky to have you! You’re the best,” one person wrote, pointing out the role of such a person in their life. Another admirer said, “You’re such a good friend to support them all,” and this kind of support was the most rightful, actually, it came directly from the actor Drew Droege who said, “❤ thank you bb so great to see youuuu.”
The variety of different productions was not the only thing that had the audience buzzing but the quality and the choices too. One of the theatergoers was voicing a feeling with a very strong opinion by stating, “the first shadow might be the best show I’ve ever seen,” joining the cultural discussion that Colfer had set off. Meanwhile, others disclosed their personal Broadway wish lists as one person declared, “I’m so freaking jealous right now. Especially for Marjorie Prime, Messy White Gays, and Just In Time. All on my bucket list but I’ll probably never get there.”
A particularly tender moment was underscored by a comment that said, “I heard you surprised @realjunesquibb,” implying that Colfer’s support also meant a special backstage visit for the 94-year-old actress. This little detail added a layer of warm affection to his already lavish week. The post also acted as a lovely nostalgia for some, with one fan linking a play to Colfer’s earlier work on ‘Glee,’ writing, “When I saw the pick with Just In Time playbill. It reminds me of when Chris says the line… Chris and Jonathan are such good actors.”

A fan’s remark, though simple and gentle, was actually strong and seemed to encapsulate it all: “he’s on a generational run.” And indeed, they are correct. From starring in a global television hit to becoming a widely-read author, and then finally, the most ardent backer of Broadway; Chris Colfer does possess the talent to arrange a career that is both unique and inspiring. His incredible week in New York was not a mere holiday; it was a master class in friendship, artistry, and support that he loves to the community he belongs. The curtain has fallen on this particular trip, but the applause from fans and friends is still resounding.
