In a viral social media moment after JD Vance dropped a trophy, the video was finally released by Jimmy Kimmel. This whole awkward moment comes with instant meme culture as the comments section fills with jokes, roasts, and some made-for-television political barbs.

The clip posted on Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Instagram is gathering reaction from people who can’t stop poking fun at that tragic incident. The comment from user @icelandjoy64 read, ‘Jimmy you need to keep that JDV trophy drop clip on standby; just to keep us happy at those times when people just need a smile and a quick pick-me-up.’ And honestly? Mood.
Other commenters were quick to point out Vance’s lack of coordination. @mayra_lisette remarked, ‘He has only ever held participation trophies. Didn’t know what to do with a real one.’ Ouch. @overlappedio somehow sensed that a near miss for self-injury might entail, ‘JD hit that poor guy in the leg and foot.’ Another person expressed worry for that poor duchess who almost had a bone crushed by such a heavy trophy. Yikes.
Political commentaries weren’t far behind on a thoroughly viral moment. @cuqui_2022 asked, ‘Why did your team go to Trump’s turf?’ while @2short619 went sarcastically: ‘So, lemme get this straight, he doesn’t mind diversity as long as it’s a sports team?’ More hangover jokes came aplenty, with @ja.ylen1699 wrapping it all, ‘That’s pretty much the summary of the administration!!’
Not all were laughing. @steinetm, on the other hand, got back at Kimmel, calling him ‘the worst TDS patient on the planet,’ and putting the blame on him for not getting over Trump winning. But we all know some comments were comic jewels. @constanclovett4501 quipped, ‘He could not see that because of his eyeliner,’ to which @slimshadyliberal replied, ‘That is what happens when J.D. gets off of the couch.’
But the good clip is funny, for even to non-political observers. @soso_arany wrote simply, ‘Your videos make my day!!!’, whereas @sheliamickelsen cheered, ‘KWAK!! Thank You JIMMY KIMMEL. KEEP IT GOING. SO LOOK FORWARD TO THE LAUGHTER.’

Whether politically charged or just absurdity taken to the nth degree to see him persistently drop a trophy, this one’s headed to meme glory, and we’re okay with that.
