Josh Groban Earns His Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Josh Groban has his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and honestly, it’s about time.

The singer and Broadway actor was officially honored on May 7, 2026. The ceremony drew some of his closest friends. Actress Kat McNamara was there and posted about it on Instagram. The caption actually meant something.

“A gorgeous day celebrating a gorgeous human,” McNamara wrote, calling Groban “the epitome of talent, kindness, and joy.” She thanked him for having her there to celebrate. The post reads like it came from someone who genuinely loves their friend. Not someone filling a PR obligation.

Also on hand? Josh Gad and comedy personality rejectedjokes. McNamara specifically thanked them both for “endless laughter.” Walk of Fame ceremonies can be stuffy. Apparently this one wasn’t.

The crowd of friends says something. People don’t show up for everyone in this industry. They showed up for Groban. Gad, McNamara, and rejectedjokes all made time. That’s not nothing in Hollywood.

The star tells a real story. Groban has been building this career since the early 2000s. He broke through with a powerful classical crossover sound and sold tens of millions of albums worldwide. The catalog is deep. Songs like “You Raise Me Up” and “To Where You Are” became fixtures at graduation ceremonies and weddings for an entire generation. That kind of music stays with people.

He didn’t stop at music either. In 2017, Groban starred in “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” on Broadway and earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. It was a full, committed performance. Critics respected it and audiences did too. That’s a different kind of credibility than most pop stars carry.

The Walk of Fame star covers all of it – the music, the stage, the two decades of staying relevant without going off the rails. Some stars on that boulevard feel like industry favors. This one makes sense.

McNamara’s post had the warmth of someone genuinely moved by the day. She’s known for her work on “Shadowhunters” and the “Arrow”-verse. She’s seen her share of Hollywood milestones. But what she wrote about Groban felt personal. She didn’t drop a photo and tag the venue. She showed up, said something real, and gave her co-attendees their credit too.

Josh Gad’s presence added some weight to the moment. He’s the voice of Olaf in Frozen and originated the role of Elder Price in “The Book of Mormon” on Broadway. He knows a thing or two about long careers. His being there, alongside McNamara and rejectedjokes, gave the ceremony a real warmth. A lot of these events don’t have that.

Groban has stayed consistently active in music and kept his fanbase across two decades. He doesn’t need a reinvention arc. He never went away. He’s made a career out of showing up at a high level and not getting weird about it.

A star on Hollywood Boulevard is supposed to mean something. For Groban, the career makes the case all by itself. Twenty-plus years. Tens of millions of albums. A Tony nomination. Friends who actually showed up.

That’s a full life in entertainment. The star just makes it official.
