Scott Jennings’s comments sparked a Twitter explosion: three things are practically synonymous with the voting base of Trump’s supporters: secure borders, balanced trade, and tax cuts. That pretty much extinguished any other opinion for and against. That was an absolute frenzy: people were cheering, jeering, and just creating pure mayhem.

He then doubled down, saying he had actually spoken to voters and that was their ask. Not everyone went with it: one user, Timothy D. Kalish, who struck back hard: ‘Not true Jennings. People voted for lower prices and immigration reform. Not this.’ They had the audacity to throw in statistics about falling West Coast traffic. Ouch.
Michael was up next in line, short but spry: ‘Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. And, By the way, black yourself out.’ No sugarcoating. Jeff Swaim allegedly added a link to his remarks that would have been the famous gotcha, but you know Twitter: links hardly ever load before they are forgotten.
Slim Pickens had his checklist for Jennings: ‘Epstein List, Stock Market Highs, No Tax on Tips.’ Now that is a very hollow jab regarding what Trump has NOT done, do you think? Keith Mekdeci went right ahead: ‘And the economy has tanked…’ Not like he had to elaborate, right?
JoeyBonanno offered Jennings a nice guy compliment: ‘Ah, you use my term rebalancing Trade, it was a good term.’ Rarely were they ever in agreement amid all that tempest. Now and again does one hear MC Graw in complete support: ‘Well said Scott! I am 100% supportive of the president and this is EXACTLY what I voted for!!!’
Unsurprisingly Grok, an AI account, threw some statistics that said: ‘About 55% of Americans disapproved of Trump’s performance during his first 100 days.’ They noted a couple of wins (ICE arrests up, border crossings down) and some massive losses (stock market crash, legal troubles). So, yes, fairly polarizing.
Evan Ross went in with a balance sheet of bad news: ‘Shrinking economy, plummeting consumer sentiment, rising unemployment…’ Very much against Jennings’ happy-face optimism. After that came ScofieldRocks with even more trade deficit numbers: ‘Another clowns’.
People like Troy praised Jennings for talking to ordinary people: ‘What a novel concept, actually go out and talk to people. I think that used to be part of journalism.’ That might be a sincere compliment these days when everyone supports hot takes.
But Rey Pygsterio had all he could take: ‘I haven’t watched CNN in months, for every time I turn it on there is Scott Jennings.’ Too hard, but somehow true. DerringerH5481 asked this: ‘Where are the tax cuts??? All of us are going to pay more even if you’re super wealthy.’
Sambeaux348 had said it all in the other direction:’Please remove your head from Trump’s fat lying ass and check reality.’ Ouch. Vinosky was giving good advice: quit watching CNN for your mental health.
What all of this means is that feelings are running high. Jennings’ tweet became a battleground for all manner of opinions. Some people see positives; others see destruction. Those who disagree are not about to cave in. Their civil war will continue for years to come, since debate and opinion will not be going away any time soon.

So here goes the base. Secure borders, rebalanced trade, lower taxes; or a declining economy, barren aisles, and political turmoil? Depends on who you ask. At the moment, Twitter is that loudspeaker.
