Shep is a very Southern type of charm who loves doting on his French Bulldog, aptly named Good Boy Craig, of course. Now the artist has turned the spotlight on another aspect, bringing a local artist who made a grandiose image of the good boy, Labrot. The reality star flaunted this masterpiece on social media and lavished praise upon the artist for his skills, as well as encouraged the promotion of artists in their craft.

With reference to Craig himself, this painting represents a perfect clash of colors and personality, the pouting eyes of Craig and his bouncy nature rendering a very bold stroke from the artist’s hand. Blues, greens, and warm oranges have been opted for the somewhat subdued color palette of this piece, psychologically preparing the viewers’ eyes to expect an almost life-like feeling. Definitely one of those arts that would make you stop scrolling- because who wouldn’t want to see their dog portrayed so regally?
Rose didn’t miss a beat. The backstory of the artist was revealed: from Hilton Head to Savannah. “She’s trying to make a go of it in the art world,” he grinned, “And I’m more than happy to support her work. That’s the kind of energy we need more of: established names giving emerging names a chance.”
His followers reacted immediately. “That is so good and completely adorable!” One reader exclaimed, “I need one of each of my Frenchies!” The painting really hit home with many viewers asking for ways on how they can actually commission a portrait of their own pet. The artist community responded with, “From one artist to another… love this painting!!”
Some went beyond just about the art, as some eagle-eyed fans spotted Rose in an Appalachian State shirt—thus was birthed a mini-thrill of school pride. Way to go, Shep!
Another enthusiastic fan suggested that Rose auction off this painting to fund the artist. It goes to show how the Internet can transform even the slightest glimpse of support into a full-blown campaign. No bad idea.
On the whole, this surpasses being a cute dog post. The little support means so much-more so if you’re an up-and-coming artist or just a pet lover! Let’s all agree Craig needs every painting ever.

So, thanks to Shep Rose for using his platform to lift others, to Labrot for making a beautiful creation, and to Craig-well, just for being Craig. He’s what would really science a different kind of internet.
